That's why I said it would end in a frozen frontline. Russia would attack expecting NATO to back out and for them to get a quick victory and for NATO to stop support to Ukraine. This is a deluded framework and the European armies will respond in full force. The US won't respond in full force (meaning reintroduction of a draft and a formal declaration of war by Congress) but will nonetheless dedicate a good part of its army. Trump in the office or not. Russia has no choice but to double down because a failed invasion looks much worse. It will have a general conscription and transform into a fully wartime command and control economy.
