as if they could enforce it anyway

technically you cant truly enforce age verification, EXCEPT they can lock web pages so you cant access them

I would say its enforcement

Temporary measure. Windows and mac users are too stupid to object to mass surveillance anyways, so this is where they start to normalize it. Once the normies are used to it they'll encroach upon the various distros, most popular first. Whatever resists will be branded terrorists/predators. The goyim always were the greatest threat to the schizos.

>>541730974
They'll probably be powershell debloat scripts which will nuke the telemetry and report some arbitrary value like 1984 years old or something
Enforcing linux would be impossible, there would be nothing stopping anyone from just adding an agenuker to the repos where you just install it via package-manager on first update and it's gone forever

I keep telling them the proper way to do it is opt-in/opt-out at the subscriber level when service is activated the modem locks down and the subscriber doesn't even see the other parts of the internet

Fuck that...
I have a solar powered, actual reality, interactive HD pornograph in my bedroom where I watch hot women performing sex without having to ask the government's permission.

There was no need, all the big distros bent over backwards to follow the new big brother law because hecking cali libs passed it

it gave them more control over the users, same as the death of apt-add-repository, the rise of snap and docker

It's actually because zucc, elon and the rest of the social media moguls wanted to shift the responsibility of user identity to the OS level instead of being held liable themselves, follow the money.

The distros where nazi labelling, blacklisting and banning from their forums anyone questioning their blind adherence to the new black mirror law

Corporate america and woke america marching in lockstep

Thankfully, age verification will be baked into systemd, even though it isn't required by law.

Lol, lmao

Pretty much every single mainstream systemD distro was planning to comply. Linux Mint kept quiet, started banning users on their forums for opposing it and asking questions about it.

It was a good eye opener into the development teams of all these distros. When all is said and done are they really any different to what people are trying to get away from? Not really.

If you're planning on moving to linux, just look up this age verification shit and cross them off your list

There will be no getting around it if you plan on continuing to use computers and phones beyond 2030.

Either get comfortable with committing identity fraud (never been easier with the influx of third world shit that all have the same names, look the same and already use fake ID's themselves for everything), or go and live in the woods and Ted K it up.

Maybe both.

Just hop on hyphanet or i2p then.
>>
>>541733177
Seems pretty gay. Just use something without systemd then. Its not hard.

not an IT tech here, but could give a thought
Windows, macOS, iOS, Android are all piss easy to enforce as flipping switches.
>closed source, hard to crack, there are some loophole by scripts like Windows LTSC activation in /g/ but Microsoft is going full crusade against it. Even Google now is trying to nuke AOSP and go full like iOS without any perks of it.
>all for centralized, single source OS activation. any new phones & PCs freshly booted new will deliver the signal to the servers located in US, for all devices worldwide! this is the central point of enforcement.
>in addition, mandatory iCloud, Microsoft Account or Google Account during activation was already the ID disclosure: real name, age, gender & especially phone number. ID tied to device via OS
All California needs to do is simply give OK signal to these FAGMAN companies to enforce one and it's retroactively done

>>541732572
California effect in action. Apple & Google are literally there. but again, the ID mandate was already done before age verification came into an idea which FAGMAN already abuse users data for whatever reason, these companies already fingerprinted the users. The mandatory rule is just a way to make it public & openly legal. This legalization is to finally complete the process, not starting it.

i remember saying systemd was going to be used for this back when systemd was first announced

Legislate for kids/teens to finally use the best OS so they learn programming or at least some code early in life
>right on time for AI to have nukes any employment opportunities for it

The world runs on linux.
I don't understand why their GUIs have been so shitty though. What's the secret that Apple has for making a sleek and intuitive OS? Why are they so good at it, but everyone else fucking sucks?
