But Russia attacking NATO bases that have 'muricans stationed there and killing/injuring even a few of them might force the US into war through public pressure.Completely withdrawing means no possible losses, gives Russia a free hand to attack all military infrastructure and offers US the option to deny any form of help since it's basically not their war.TLDR it is a big declaration of Russia might come and you're on your own.
