Politically speaking, should a man stay with his wife for the sake of his child? We know the psychological impacts (among others) of a child's parents separating, but is it worse for two parents who hate each other to stay together or separate and pray their child doesn't end up gay?

I hate niggers so fucking much.

it depends on the unique situation. my parents marriage failed when i was 5 but they stayed together 'for us' until i was 15. the damage that decade of violence did is so severe that i cant imagine it'd have been worse for us if they'd divorced when i was 5. do what you will with that i suppose

If your wife is a toxic person, you should get a divorce if you truly love your child. Growing up with a toxic parent is worse than growing up in a single parent.

That is true. Problem is I am never home due to work, so either way I wouldn't be there for my child, but when I am my wife constantly picks fights and argues, using our child as a prop and ignoring them making them incredibly upset.

Divorcing her doesn't take her out of the kids life. If anything it takes him out of it more.

You should probably put up with her. Unless you feel safe having her and whoever she chooses next raising your kid.

If you don't mind, what was the cause of your parent's marriage failure?

I most certainly do not trust anyone in her life, but I am never home anyways and she takes our child to the very people I have to explain every time are bad.

>whoever she chooses next raising your kid.
I misread that. I do not believe she would choose anyone else frankly.

they never should have wed. during this time my mother openly admitted that she settled for my father. another huge part of it was when i was very little my father took a lot of equity out of the house to invest. this worked out well in the long term but caused a lot of fighting for them in the moment

I see. I can relate to your mother in a sense, I settled for my wife - we never should have wed. I'm sorry that happened to you, anon.

life has ups and downs. those times were tough but i give credit to the violence of my childhood for making me into the man i am today. my parent's relationship never recovered but i am close with them both. at some point, we all have to suffer, and when yours comes i hope you do it well

Thank you.
