What caused /pol/ to transition from actual politically incorrect fringe ideologies to mainstream MAGA le free market conservatism?
>>
>>541754962
Trump told them to. Simple as. Trump is the way they feel important and special and cool. For a lot of them, it's the only thing they have in an otherwise mediocre life. They'll do whatever daddy says because they know what it feels like to be just... them. Lots will avoid that at all costs.

Free Markets are the detault state of man
Fighting them is fighting human nature

The smarter thing to do is to understand the free market
And adapt your life around it

Chasing looney ideas such as communism
Is not something the smart intellectuals of /pol/ would ever approve

tl;dr It is what it is

I have always supported seizing the assets of everyone that profited from immigration or outsourcing, placing them in camps and forcing them to work to earn their freedom.
>>

>Free Markets are the detault state of man
There is no default state of man. We create our own default states. This era of "free markets," (more accurately probably called something like "socialism for the rich") is contingent, chosen, and consciously maintained.

And we're gonna tear it down.
>>
>>541755250
>And we're gonna tear it down.
And replace it with what?
>>
>>541754962
trumpisim is still politically incorrect, despite the fact that it is now more mainstream than it used to be.

You have threads on this board alleging that tariffs were an intentional self destruction of the USA.
--- An insane viewpoint, but mainstream in your democrat leftist circles due to your jewish media programming

Strict lobbying laws for domestic entities and a ban on foreign ones, dramatically higher marginal taxes on the earnings of the rich and corporations, draconian campaign finance laws, taxes paid up-front on borrowing against assets for amounts in excess of the national average of a single-family home, and increased cooperation with our former allies, including ratifying the ICC.

Then, before we dramatically reduce military spending, we'll start getting rid of tax havens, with sanctions first and then militarily if necessary.
>>
>>541755339
tariffs are a targeted tool for growing domestic industries under a strong government directed hand, see Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and now China. You may want low tariffs on iprts of steel so that there is cheap raw material, but high tariffs on cars so that the domestic industry can outcompete outsiders. But what Trump is doing is retarded controlled demolition of supply chains for no reason.
>>
>>541754962
/Pol/ isn't a monolith. In fact I hate most of you faggots.
>>
>>541755740
Some of those ideas do not sound bad
except
>ratifying the ICC.
Why on earth would you want to do that?
Undermining your own sovereignity
Who elected and approved the ICC? Certainly not American citizens
Have never known /pol/ old or nu to ever be a big fan of the ICC

As regards the rest of what you posted, regardless of the merit of those ideas
The fact is that they still represent adapting around free markets
Not fundamentally dismantling them

Fundamentally dismantling free markets looks something like Cuba
And no sane person wants to be Cuba
>>
>>541754962
Liberal MAGA boomer tourists.
>>
>>541756076
>Why on earth would you want to do that?
It's how we finally settle the world. We have proven over and over and over again that we cannot be trusted to govern our behavior ourselves. Look at Iraq, Panama, Iran, Afghanistan, and on and on and on and on. Look at how we have raped the global south for our own benefit, even as we turn away and spit on the migration the rape creates.

I don't think the era of global superpowers accountable only to other global superpowers is sustainable, sensible, or ethical. I think it needs to end, and allowing an external organization to hold even our leaders to our own laws is the only way forward.
>>
>>541756541
But why the ICC?
Why are they so special?
>>
>>541755111
Free market theory didn't even exist until the 18th century and markets overall have existed for only ~4,000 years

Nothing. Expediency, more than anything. It exists and many of our allies are already signatories. America operates on a two-year national political cycle. As Trump himself has proven, if you move fast you can change lots of things. I just want to change things for the better for more than just the ultrarich.
>>
>>541756076
>Fundamentally dismantling free markets looks something like Cuba
>And no sane person wants to be Cuba
For the record, I'm a market socialist. I believe markets are efficient allocators of resources. What I do not believe is that they are efficient allocators of the political and economic rewards of that resource allocation function.

>You have threads on this board alleging that tariffs were an intentional self destruction of the USA.
>--- An insane viewpoint
The way they were implemented was insane. Taxing everything from everybody not only hurts the nation but is usually a Democrats position.
>>
>>541756784
The theory perhaps but they have been a reality since dawn of civilization
Although their effects have been more pronounced only in the recent past

>>541756807
That does not seem very smart honestly. There is no other way to say it
Ideally the alternative would be a well thought out and well justified political entity

>>541757005
I assume that you believe that successful capitalists/capitalist entities such as corporations for example
Are not the best allocators of economic gains but rather, some governmental entities?
>>
>>541757436
Is Feudalism a free market economy to you?
>>
>>541757606
no, but the trade that went on between various feudal economies
followed free market concepts whether they explicitly approved them or not
>>
>>541757868
you don't now what capitalism is and it shows. Pro tip: Capitalism is not 'when trade happens'. Capitalism owns trade about as much as feudalism owns the concept of farming.
>>
>>541758712
Trade always followed the laws of supply and demand ie free markets
Regardless of the century said trade took place in or the political nature of the trading entities involved
>>
r/the_donald was banned and we got flooded with milquetoast retards who now call /ptg/ home and consider spamming nigger and tranny the height of transgression

I've been on the Chans since 2007. My main boards were /k/ and /v/ but /pol/ only caught my attention in 2016. In a way I'm part of the first real influx of cancer because of the Tump hype but I tried to integrate and not shit things up. Someone told me that ironic shitposting is still shitposting and I took it to heart. It was an entirely different crowd back then with great board culture and threads that were real gems offering insights you could not find anywhere else. I'm glad I caught the tail end of it.

maga was always a coopt of disenfranchised independents, koch brothers have been trying to grift deregulatory, anti state and low tax people since the 80's and started the tea party in 2002, but it didn't gain traction until obama's second term. basically people sick of the system and glownigger antics got baited
>>
>>541759842
It's fair to say that MAGA policies are not free market, rather they are the red brand of socialism for the rich and trampling on the poor. But working class MAGA voters typically justify their being constantly trodden on through reference to le free market, and that doing anything to resist would be le evil socialism.
