Even if true why does it matter?What causes El Nino is not known but it's known(1) to not be due to CO2 increase which is obvious due to its uneven but cyclic nature and variance.So what is the point of articles like this? El Nino and La Nina exist because everything covering the earth that is not land is a fluid. Air and water are both fluids. This means heat exchange occurs due to fluidic pressure changes causing heating and cooling cycles between the liquid and gas states, like a heat pump/AC. They're shifting strong right now because of all the excess energy being introduced into the system, mostly by the sun. The poles are weakening a bit and the magnetosphere is fluctuating allowing more solar energy to hit the earth. Also, humans are outputting a lot of energy as well, though this is at a peak due to population which is now going to drop. These cycles are how the earth maintains its body temp and it will cause more chaotic weather, but nothing that serious. In time these fluctuations will reduce as less energy is introduced into the system. The poles will eventually restrengthen and less energy will be output by humans. Things will be fine.
