Can you show me the ATF leaks?
>>
>>541778536
No... I haven't found that, yet.
>>
>>541778642
I'm starting to suspect that OP's claim is fake, since there's no evidence that it's real, which should be readily available if it were.
What do you think?

Supposedly it was briefly published, but how are we supposed to see 6 gb of data in a few minutes? Was that just to show off to the government to get the ransom for the data?

>What do you think?
They are a ransom group.
They have a boilerplate ransom note they use.
Some snippets of the files were broadcast but taken down.
They have a history to back it up.
I give it a better-than-a-coin-flip's odds they are real.
>>
>>541779064
How can we confirm that any of it was real, assuming it's true that any information was released at all?
>>
>>541779127
if it was real, im in there
someone find the file niggerz
>>
>>541779127
>How can we confirm that any of it was real,
I don't think you can, for now. I just checked their "blog" on the onion side of things, and they have removed their "evidence" of it. Just a folder note like the pic above.
However, they have plenty of other examples on there of things they haven't taken down.
>>
>>541779325
How much did these people expect to be paid, and how would they collect their ransom?
Also, why would anyone pay a ransom for files which would obviously be copied?
>>
>>541779632
>How much did these people expect to be paid, and how would they collect their ransom?
No details on that from what I saw. Their MO is to set up a meeting via TOX to discuss details, and I suspect that is what happened in this case. The hack was posted Aug 26th. I imagine the ATF hopped on to a call with them right away. Some crypto was probably transferred and that's it.

What's to stop them from just ransoming the same information again?

ATF is unconstitutional it's why I never buy guns from them.

What do they even do, just delete the atf
>>
>>541779864
Well if some anonymous people are receiving money from the government, especially if it's going to be for the rest of time, then I think it's kinda important for me to know about it. Don't you agree?

i wonder which party is violating the constitutiom

I doubt it. Twitter post lied and you're parroting it
>>
>>541779826
>What's to stop them from just ransoming the same information again?
What do you think would happen if they tried to do that? Do you honestly think anyone would pay them ever again? I don't.
Also, their motive appears to be some robin-hood-esque operation, primarily against warmongers. They supposedly (put some bold italics on that) give a larger chunk of the ransom to contra organizations. If they fuck around, that whole model goes to shit, and their "hobby" and "mission" vanishes in one fell swoop.

All of them. This whole country is a violation of the constitution.
>>
>>541779632
>Also, why would anyone pay a ransom for files which would obviously be copied?
The ransom is for the files to NOT be released. Usually something confidential or would otherwise cause damage if leaked outside of intended recipients. ATF still has the files, they just don't want it out on a public dropbox since their current targets can also access and potentially derail whatever ongoing investigations by destroying evidence and preemptively filing injunctions.

Still, ATF can get fucked. No good reason for them to exist.
>>
>>541780023
Why wouldn't they be paid again if they were already paid once, especially when the people paying are affiliated with the people who can legally print money?
>>
>>541780149
say what now
>>

>The hackers often post screenshots to demonstrate that certain types of documents have been stolen from victims, but that has yet to happen in ATF’s case.
Almost like they didn't actually get any info, or something.

the data portion could be 6GB (like a SQL database) but the iCloud + Kikebrite data would likely be larger for all those investigations

ATF admitted a major data breach.
Lmao, indians fuck every thing up
>>
>>541780191
>Almost like they didn't actually get any info, or something.
would be funny if everyone under investigation got all relevant info.
ATF evidence (probably giving up their snitches) and so on, giving all currently law abiding citizens (at least not proven guilty in court) a chance to organize their paperwork and ensure the situation is properly addressed and compliance with the law ensured.
>>
Probably should just dump all the info and forget about a random
>>
>>541780191
>>541780573
It goes in stages. First it's all private, they give the data owner an opportunity to negotiate and finalize payment options, and if for whatever reason the ransom is not paid, generally the next step is releasing tranches of incremental sensitivity in order to apply pressure to the data owner.

6GB tranche likely contains data of little external value (the don't want to devalue their loot) but is highly relevant to the concerned parties, it's usually done to indicate a) the hack is confirmed genuine b) the hackers are in a position to release the data at will. If negotiations stall or communication channels deteriorate, the hackers lose their bargaining chip, and will be forced to release all of the data for free

>Historically speaking, the FEDS will pay the ransom. It's what's best for everyone involved

>>541777235
>be China
>get away with everything from bio-terrorism, drug trafficking, ransomware of hospitals and governments, up to genocide, aggression, imperialism, coup d'etats, turning entire countries into scam centers filled and staffed with literally kidnapped kids and young people from across Asia, being the cartel's best buds, and all this is just the stuff we can read and know about..
And world gov bodies like UN, WB, IMF just keep patting it on the head, so I guess the message is we should all try to be more like CHYNA..
