It is very much true that elites do not hold any solidarity with their lower-class kin - to them they are all merely a resource that can and should be used for their benefit and then tossed away as soon as it is no longer profitable. This is exactly why they are so eager to allow immigrants to their countries - to them the difference between a poor Brit and poor Paki is almost non-existent. As long as they can make a profit - either is fine. However, you appear to be missing that lower-class people have more or less the same perception of race and ethnic kinship. The very moment some conflict of interest appears between hem, all this talk about being the same family gets thrown out the window and they are ready to tear each other apart over petty things. You can see it even on /pol/ with people holding relatively similar ideas and belonging to the same race being ready to kill each other over some mundane things. Nationalism just does not work - not on the lower level and not within the elite class either.
