Yield is the inverse of the face value of a bond. The percentage different between the price of the bond you paid for and the money the bond will pay out at expiration is the yield. The bond payout is static and doesn't change, but the cost to buy that bond fluctuate, hence the changing yield. If you bought a bond that pay out 100$ that cost you $95, it has a yield of 5.2%.

It also means the government has to sell more bond to raise the same amount of money.

None of this has anything to do with Bessent (who is a mere plate-spinner on the deck of the Titanic)) or Trump.
U.S. Congress holds the purse strings on spending. Not presidents
It's a global debt-based economic model.

No 4chan user comprehends or understands what *any of this* means or how the global debt-based system of post-1970s Financialization operates or functions; not even what it actually is. 4chan = *total brainlets*.

Fun Fact

I unironically want to fist fight Scott Bessent.
He thinks he is a bull queer but 60 days to prepare I would light that dude up like a Christmas Tree.

Bet that.

And if Elon had taken his fight with Zuckerberg seriously and trained in MMA like Zuck did, which led to him being a nerd I would not fug with, Elon wouldn’t have left the WH with a black eye.

But Bessent seriously needs to get knocked down a few pegs.

Yeah, the system is beyond fucked. Debt continues to grow at the same pace it did 40 years ago (quadruplicates every 20 years or so) but grow and revenue cannot keep up to sustain it. This is even worse in many other developed countries that are currently facing a demographic winter. The mother of all bubbles will pop in the next generation of so, as foretold by Bill Gross.
>>
>>541809543
He also blew up his Soros fund shorting oil in the early 00's.
Guess what he's doing these days, with a revenge. And with your tax money, at that.
The oil shortsqueeze that is inadvertently being engineered by this retard will be of biblical proportions.

When the global debt market implodes, so go all 160 nations <poof> gone.
People still don't comprehend how fucked up 2008 actually was, what the structural dysfunction of twenty years ago globally, consisted of.
Interest Payments on the U.S. debt now exceed annual federal discretionary spending, comprise over half the annual federal budget. Half the money 'printed' on Congress' behalf for their spending (of money they *don't have* and *doesn't exist*) habits instantly goes to Interest Payments on the credit card.
Normgroids who think 'civilization is more wealthy and better off, doing better than the Middle Ages / any prior time in history' are beyond fucking delusional.

Stop being so dramatic. I say this as a stacker. All it means is that fantasy "money" will reach its intrinsic value of 0 and we'll move on to something perceived of having an intrinsic value higher than 0. FIAT is just human imagination, if you want the debt to be 0 you can do that in a split second. The land will still be there, still needing tilling and the cows will still grace regardless of the USD being valued at 0 or 1.

>Swede brainlet
sound money hard assets are good advice from the micro individual-investor level, nothing to do with the debt-based global system however

>>541815766
checked, it's part of what they're attempting to do.
This administration's initial plan (we're almost 2 full years in) was, to get the annual gdp growth out of the ~ 2 percent into the 7 percent range; newsflash it's still at around 2 percent (and much of the past 18 months 'growth' has been stock market and AI-hype debt bubble<--this latter mostly propped up by not only speculative debt instruments but also US fedgov subvention)
Even *if* the annual gdp growth rate reached the target that would just barely keep U.S. fedgov ahead of the Interest Payments on the debt and, as explained above, Congress is still rubberstamping $2.5 trillion/annum budgets every year in the foreseeable future.
At this spending rate the U.S. Treasury hits the total default brick wall in less than four years. Global debt market isn't going to hold out nearly that long (as clearly seen by today's bond yield spikes, the Japan yen carry trade fiasco<--which itself has been in the making for a few years etc.)
the End Of The Yellow Brick Road for this global hoax fake fraud system is upon us, Bessent et al. well know and are awarethis

This anon is correct.
Congress and Senate yearly vote in a BUDGET.
Lately boomers in Congress and Senate are so dumb
that they can't even figure out how to balance a budget.

Bearish 30Y isn't a big deal. The US doesn't do long term borrowing anyway. It issues lots of 5Y and 10Y.

>>541809279
>>541813489
You only buy precious metals if you think all fiat is dead not just the US. There's no evidence that the debt crisis is a global phenomenon. Hedging with gold .etc is fine to an extent but you shouldn't go all in because there are lots of safe havens.
