I'm 32 years old and haven't had a job in 4 years. I started school in St Petersburg in 2013 for chemical engineering degree, and later graduated in 2017 when the war was already going on 3 years. It took me awhile due to politics, but eventually I started working at oil refinery. By 2022 my workplace was destroyed by Russian strike and now my degree is worthless in Ukraine due to coming from Russian university. My job would have been draft exempt if I had one. I can't leave the country either. Realistically, how do you escape this situation?

They don't have to be roles that directly draw on your education, but roles wherein *some* experience or knowledge is advantageous over someone with none. How you go looking for jobs without someone just telling you they have a job for you and sticking a rifle in your hands I couldn't say, but a civilian job and keeping your head down is realistically your best bet at this point if you don't have the resources to jump the border and start a life overseas.
