What are the political implications of diesel prices bypassing the 2022 peak and reaching all time highs two months before midterms?

Thousands of Iranians explode every time they step outside and all their leaders are dead and theyre blockaded and cant move an ounce of oil and have no nukes and theyre running out of food water and missiles and have no mines or military projection and all their missiles get intercepted and their dickless legless armless leader hides in a bunker but gas is a little expensive so theyre winning

In case anyone in wanting to understand this chart. It’s “NY Harbour ULSD”. This is the bench mark price for the refined middle distillates. The components/outputs of which are below are.

Diesel, kerosene (aviation fuel), heating oil, gas-oil.

These middle distillates refined products come from the input crude oil called heavy-sour. This type of oil was predominantly supplied by the gulf. US oil is mostly “light sweet”. Given US control of the oil trade for the last 80 years. The US chose to export most of its LS crude and reply on cheap gulf HS.

So 75% of US refineries are set up for this gulf oil. These are called “complex refineries”. They CAN process LS but it’s very inefficient and a major loss maker. And the US hasn’t built a new oil refinery for 50 years.

So the TLDR is US diesel/aviation fuel/heating oil is almost completely reliant on the gulf imports. While they export their own LS for other petrochemical refined products to other nations.

So they can’t just replace the gulf oil or rebuild refineries to change the grade processing input types. That takes a decade of building at a minimum. Btw this is the primary reason for the Canada friction. Now that the gulf HS is gone. Canada is 75% of US heavy sour input for crate diesel. And Canada wants to ship to the US and other nations. But the US wants complete control of that Canadian heavy sour (largest heavy sour supplier globally outside Canada).

This is why WTI. Can fall. Yet the diesel keeps rising. They can’t get the heavy sour supply and the SPR (reserves) which has about 70% HS concentration is basically gone. Even though they have continued light sweet supply continuing. It’s not helping the diesel crisis.

This is why the war has restarted. The US is desperately seeking HS crude for diesel. And because they have been exporting their refined diesel reserves too to keep Europe and Asia going.

Times up.

Jeet calling someone else a jeet; Trying to gain Izzat stealing from your employer gave it away!

I know people here who put off filling their heating oil tanks a few months ago, because they support Trump and believed him when he told them this would all be over soon and prices would drop by September when they had to fill up for winter. Puts a smile on my face.

Well for their defence, Trump 2024 seems completely different from Trump 2016. Trump 2016 was still trying to negotiate with Turkey, Iran, Egypt. Trump 2024 doesn't care anymore and just bomb what Kushner tells him to bomb, and Trump is stupid enough to tell in front of cameras that he is doing that because his son in law asked him to do so !
>>
>>541823014
He is the exact same person, the only difference is all the people around him in all three branches empowering his every desire rather than pulling off the mother of all tard wrangling
>>
>>541823099

I can't say more because I'm not American; but from the UK and continental European perspective, he seems to be a different person.

no the owner is literally a skitzo jeet im just doing my due diligence as a White man to reverse his izzat from stealing from him lmao plus I'm not paying $2/L for diesel+ gay faggot def

>Trump 2024 seems completely different from Trump 2016

Only if you weren't paying attention for the last 10 years.
>>
>>541823014
He kickstarted this war by reneging on the Obama deal with Iran
>>
>>541823014
He wanted to do this the entire time, and he started antagonizing North Korea in his first term as well. Also the Afghanistan drawdown was his "deal" and had he been elected in 2020 that would've fallen on him too. He does not have a good track record for foreign diplomacy. If you believe this guy's tough guy 1980 businessman boardroom psycho shit actually works on foreign governments at all youre just pretending.
>>
>>541823099
He never changed about tariffs for instance, it's still all revenge for the exact same grudge he's held since the 80s for losing to a Japanese collector in an auction.
>>
>>541820294
The people who drive diesel trucks think it's a good thing and no I am not even trolling
>>
>>541823425
>He does not have a good track record for foreign diplomacy

antagonizing all your traditional allies, betraying the Kurds months before expecting to rely on them to invade for the Iran war and acting with supreme arrogance isn't very diplomatic. But it is vintage Trump.

He is and he is not. He got older and wiser if that means anything. Establishment did try to prosecute him, but at the same time Trump always was a narcissistic toddler who needs his ego stroked so going after him is the ultimate sin. How dare they! After HIM? Now they’re paying with erosion of democratic institutionalism. The institutions won’t go away any time soon, but the crumbling has begun.

It’s mildly annoying but not that bad yet. I hate having to use my card 2+ times cause it hits the credit limit for the transaction. Usually 175 dollars.
>>
>>541823171
You drive a Jetta which is a white mans car so I will give you the benefit of the doubt on this one.
>>
>>541823425

Maybe it's because he was still trying to maintain a semblance of diplomacy. And frankly this is also what - I believe - most of people from the UK, Australia, South America... thought.
Now, even pure normies all around the world genuinely believe he takes order directly from Israel and executes without asking questions.

>>541823295

Yep, you're absolutely right At this time, other countries didn't immediately see the risk, they probably thought it was some pressure from Israel but they didn't imagine an American war against Iran just because Israel asked.

>>
>>541824245

The US has the biggest military, the biggest economy. There is corruption, but not at Russia's level. To imagine Russia puppeting a country with 20 times it's own GDP, same raw quantity of resources, much stronger naval forces... is ridiculous. It's like saying Portugual is controlling Brazil.
>>
>>541824645
>There was corruption, but not at Russia's level until Trump's regime.

ftfy I mean, the only way you could even make such a statement is if you're wholly ignorant of what they're doing, or being deliberately obtuse.

Honestly you're an ass.
