Boomers epitomize this problem. Younger people witness all kinds of horrors and have a hard time dealing with them because their parents and grandparents never had to deal with those horrors and pretend those horrors aren't even real because they never experienced said horrors when they were young and stupid. High trust is NOT good when it comes at the cost of hardship for future generations who learn the hard way the war of all against all never stopped and is knocking at your civilization's door.
