you're over 60 years old and you're a liberal.

Global bond aka debt market crash. That's what matters here, entire stock market is founded on debt and speculative debt instruments. ('Stocks' are a joke, smoke-&-mirrors and vastly overvalued)

The UK seems to be in a much worse state financially than the U.S., so it's really a race over who's bond market implodes first.

I'm not that old, or the other thing, but I remember when Drudge was red meat for this board. It wasn't called /pol/ then however.

Mostly this. And of course, they're all interleveraged with each other in myriad ways and to differing inter-dependent magnitudes
(witness what has lately been occurring with yen carry trade, for just 1 example)

Well, the UK budget is coming up and the government seems to not have a clue about balancing the budget. They can't cut spending because Labour backbenchers won't allow it, they can't raise taxes because investment will be dampened and feed the cycle. I did see Burnham suggested nationalisation of utilities, which is probably the worst thing he could have said as his maiden speech in Parliament as PM. The budget could well turn into a fiasco if markets completely lose confidence.

It's bad all across the west, every government is vastly in debt, overleveraged. Also no one is buying the debt.
A few years ago the Bank of England was forced to buy back bonds (take them back onto their balance sheet) in order to save U.K. pensions from implosion.

After 2008 everything was cheap but most of us were unemployed. It was a real kick in the dick.

>Crash in two more weeks
This story literally gets written by someone, somewhere every day. If you keep predicting a recession all the time, I guess you will eventually be right.
