Is civilization genuinely over because of AI? The generation currently growing up watched YouTube kids as babies and went through school with AI. They, without any exaggeration, can't even read 5 pages without an AI summary. And phrasing something on their own is unfathomable to them. My cousin somehow got into medical school and doesn't even read the books, just has the AI read them. I'd say we'd be well and truly fucked if these "people" became the workforce. The only saving grace is that they'll never find skilled work because of AI. The best they'll have is competing with Indians on who can live and work in the gutter more cheaply.

Yeah. For me it's been seeing nobody at work using AI at the start of the year, to everyone using it, for everything. Even some of the texts I get from friends have clearly been AI generated...I suspect things will be all over by the end of next year in terms of some kind of irrevocable new thing related to AI.
