I really can't understand the point of the Ukraine war and why Russia hasn't declared a ceasefire and ended it years ago. Here are some points that make no sense to me:>Stopping NATOUkraine is already NATO proxy even without officially being a member. They can't demilitarize it if they won't go to war with Europe or the US, which is arming them. Even when the last Ukrainian dies, Europe and the democrat controlled US will be sending troops to Ukraine>They just want Donetsk and LuhanskFirst of all, they waste a lot of manpower and resources just to advance a couple of kilometers. Second, the land is pretty much desolated after the fighting is done. They have to invest a lot of resources in rebuilding it and most of the people who will resettle it won't even be ethnic Russians in the first place anymore. To me, all of this points to having a ceasefire with Ukraine years ago as a better option. Even the whole argument that Putin is afraid for his life doesn't make much sense, since the average Russian is so brainwashed that he can declare almost anything a victory and still remain in power.
