Ok well here's what ChataGPT says:
>Small data center: tens of thousands of gallons/day.
>Large hyperscale data center: hundreds of thousands to several million gallons/day.
>Very large AI-focused facilities: potentially several million gallons/day at peak.
Nigger AI would drink up all the water if we let it. The DSA is starting to look like a might nice alternative at this point.
>>
Seems correct. How many of your home computers are water cooled? Why would they water cool a data centre? Likely they are air cooled.

Where does the water go? Into space? When they 'use' it does it just disappear?
I hate the spread of datacenters by the way. But the water argument is retarded. We should be more concerned by the amount of electricity they use and the rising costs it passes to the average person.
And also the fact that they're going to use them to instate total surveillance.
>>
>>541876151
"Use" as in "consume". People act like the water data centers use disappears and must be constantly replaced.

Its true, they don't, at least not in significant amounts.
Prove me wrong.
Post the statistics comparing data center water usage to other common things.

I could tell you but its better you learn for yourself.
>>
>>541876151
biggest data centers use 100.000 people city water equivalent, relatively high, but nothingburger in the grand scheme of things.

Now. How much water do 1,000,000 imported migrants use?

If water is an argument vs data centers, then is it a much stronger argument against immigration.
>>
>>541877604
Those numbers are completely fake and you know it.
>>
>>541876151
The amount of water usage at data centers is insane. The cooling towers have to periodically dump water throughout the day. As water evaporates, it's conductivity increases; less H2O = more minerals. Those minerals build up on the heat exchanger and create a thermal barrier, causing the cooling tower to be less efficient. So they put water conductivity sensors in the water. When the conductivity gets too high, they dump thousands of gallons of water down the drain and refill the entire thing. As the quality of these sensors decreases (made by brownoids) and the people who monitor data centers (also diversity hire brownoids) the amount of water wasted is increased exponentially.

>>
>>541877782
No one is suggesting the data centers are atomizing the water or something. They are using it just like other businesses. The only difference is that they are getting subsidies from the government to make resources scarcer and therefore more expensive
>>
>>541879303
No it doesnt. Any "closed loop system" needs to be periodically flushed.

They arent though.
They barely use water compared to other businesses and most states have passed laws requiring They pay for the infrastructure upgrades they need.

Data centers could use a lot less water through a closed system where most of the water is recycled and used again. but that would cost billionaires more money. So they won't be doing that. Data centers don't use /UP/ water. It's used as cooling and released back into the environment, completely safely might I add.

The issue with data centers is not that they're resource intensive. They're not. The issue is that they support AI. AI is incredibly dangerous to our society because of how good it's become. Lots of jobs are going to be completely removed from the job market, and it'll become incredibly easy to politically assassinate firebrand upstart politicians by fabricating some damning video evidence of them committing heinous acts. Not to mention there will come a time in the near future when a guilty person gets found innocent or an innocent person found guilty based on fabricated evidence.

>>
Why do data centers use so much water?

It's really fucking simple. They use evaporative coolers, pic related. They're also called Swamp Coolers, because of the humidity they cause. Basically, rather than trapping a gas in a cooling loop that can run until it leaks out, they just push the air from the building over a sheet of water and let the water absorb the heat until it boils off, then keep pumping more fresh water in.

These units are dirt cheap to buy and install. Like, 1/10th of the cost of an actual heat pump, which are already getting cheaper. They cost more to operate if water isn't fractions of a penny per gallon, however. Places with drought controls like California could easily drink everything in the area running a few hundred of these.

It's literally just AI megascalers being cheap kikes who don't want to invest in good cooling so they go with the cheapest upfront cost and don't think about long term operation whatsoever. That's some other nigger's bag to hold.
