This man was ON VIDEO RECORDING HIMSELF COMMITTING HIS CRIME And was completely acquitted by a jury of breaking into a factory farm to rescue two sick piglets despite overwhelming evidence that he did it. They literally filmed themselves committing their “crimes” and confessed but were still acquitted.

This
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_7q87fAYbZk 4 minutes and 30 seconds in you can see live footage from courtroom of verdict being read.

The animal rescue took place in March 2017 at Smithfield Foods' Circle Four Farms in Beaver County, Utah, and the trial was held in neighboring Washington County, Utah in October 2022.

Beaver County is extremely rural, heavily agricultural, and politically conservative. In political elections, both Beaver County and Washington County voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump (winning roughly 80% and 70% of the vote, respectively).

Pregnant pigs were locked inside 2 by 7 foot metal gestation and farrowing crates, spaces so narrow the animals could not turn around. Many sows suffered from open pressure sores, were covered in feces, or bit cage bars until their mouths bled from distress. In one instance, a sow's nipples were so torn that her starving piglets were drinking her blood instead of milk.

Investigators documented piglets experiencing seizures, dying of starvation, being crushed under their mothers, or falling through metal floor grates and getting trapped beneath. The two piglets rescued by Hsiung (later named Lily and Lizzie) were severely malnourished, infected, and near death.

Yeah, don't care about the guy. Factory farming should be at least not blatantly cruel. I mean, we are going to kill, separate their parts, cook and eat them. Sometimes it's with eggs for breakfast.

The Smithfield Foods Farm Trial

Following the release of the footage from the Smithfield farm, the FBI identified Hsiung and Picklesimer and began a multi-state chase. Agents raided animal sanctuaries in Utah and Colorado. At one sanctuary, a government veterinarian sliced off a part of a pig’s ear to test the DNA to try and identify her as a Smithfield pig

It would take very little. People would even pay extra for meat that comes like that. Unfortunately, jews know that, so they just label everything with questionable promises of cruelty-free meat with only tiny modifications to earn the certifications.

The problem is and will always be jews and money.

Yeah I think the FBI were just being assholes and passive aggressive

They cut the ear because the search warrant explicitly allowed it, and ear tissue is a standard, durable livestock DNA sample—not because a drop of blood wouldn’t have worked.
The 2017 FBI warrants for the Utah and Colorado sanctuaries authorized “DNA samples (blood, hair follicles or ear clippings)” from pigs matching a physical description (pink/white coloring, docked tails, roughly 5–9 months old, or a hole in the right ear). State veterinarians accompanying the agents chose an ear clip. At Luvin Arms in Colorado they used a snare on the snout to immobilize one pig and cut off roughly two inches of ear. The procedure was so violent that even the agents stopped them from doing the second pig.
Why that method instead of a blood draw or hair:

Physical exhibit. A chunk of tissue can be bagged, labeled, and kept as evidence with a clear chain of custody. A dried blood spot or a few hairs are easier to lose, contaminate, or challenge in court.
Industry practice. Commercial pig DNA kits often use ear-tissue punches or leftover ear-notch pieces. Farms already notch or tag ears for ID, so vets and investigators treat ear tissue as a normal sample.
Yield and storage. Cartilage and skin give more DNA than a small blood drop and don’t require special preservatives the way wet blood does.
Restraint. Drawing blood from a terrified, struggling pig in a sanctuary barn is messy. They already had the animal snared; clipping the ear was faster for them even if it was more mutilating.

None of that required a two-inch slice. A small punch or a few drops of blood would have been enough for genotyping.
>>
>>541878352
The size of the cut and the use of a snare were choices, not technical necessities. Federal prosecutors never charged the activists; Utah still pursued state burglary and theft counts. In October 2022 a Washington County jury acquitted Wayne Hsiung and Paul Picklesimer. The two piglets (Lily and Lizzie) were never seized and remained at sanctuary.
The raid itself was an attempt to prove the pigs were Smithfield property so they could be treated as stolen goods. Cutting a large piece of ear was the method they picked from the options the warrant already listed. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/10/08/science/animals-rights-piglets-smithfield.html https://theintercept.com/2017/10/05/factory-farms-fbi-missing-piglets-animal-rights-glenn-greenwald/

From what I understand, they've already sacrificed many red heifers supplied by misled Texas christian zionists.

The red heifer sacrifice isn't the beginning of anything in particular. The ashes of the beast are used to cleanse the new temple and the head priests who enter it and perform their evil inside of it. They'll need a steady supply of red heifers into perpetuity, hence the breeding programs in Israel and abroad. It's just securing a product before it's needed, not the trigger itself.

A valid animal must be fully red, unblemished, never yoked, and of mature age (from the start of its third year). New 2026 calves would not even be in the window until roughly 2028, and most candidates historically fail before then.

“The last was a practice run as it had a blemish.”

True. In early July 2025 a heifer was burned in Samaria / the West Bank as a rehearsal. It had been ruled invalid (reports cite two black hairs and/or other defects). It was not done on the Mount of Olives, which organizers themselves say is the required site for a real rite. Temple-aligned sources and later fact-checks treat it as a drill, not a kosher sacrifice. Some Texas/Christian participants later claimed the ashes “counted”; the main Israeli religious bodies running the project say they did not.

Five Red Angus heifers from Texas arrived in September 2022, arranged with Boneh Israel and examined by Temple Institute rabbis. Several were later disqualified (white hairs, warts/growths, etc.). One documented modern burning: the 2025 practice animal.

That’s the official narrative so far

Wild / feral chickens are common in parts of Hawaii

But for every male in a blender theres a hen in a battery cage,

Women believe childbirth is the most painful thing ever but theres good evidence the average chicken she eats suffered far more. Even if it’s completely unmedicated. Giving birth is not that impressive and I’ll explain why

What’s the most painful thing that ever happened to you? Seriously take a moment and contemplate it, try, in as much detail as you can, to remember what it was like. Maybe, for a few of you it was childbirth, an experience which, when it takes place without anesthesia, is temporarily completely debilitating. Nothing other than the pain occupies the mind of the sufferer.

Perhaps it was getting a tattoo. Someone on Quora summarized the pain of getting a tattoo in the following way:

>They hurt.

>There are between one and 20 needles being poked through your skin hundreds of thousands of time in a single session. The number of needles will determine the type and intensity of pain. So expect it. The real question is how much will it hurt.

I’ve been quite lucky and never experienced any particularly severe pain. I can remember quite a few times I’ve had pretty intense pain, barely eating for two days, having a doctor press down on my infected finger until it popped when I was 8, having a very severe stomach ache, falling out of a treehouse (though remaining in the tree) and banging my chin on the side of it, but nothing has been that bad. I’d guess the worst experience of my life is a lot less painful than a wrist tattoo.

The most painful experience that most of us have ever had is classified as disabling pain. This is the sort of pain that’s bad enough that during it you can’t enjoy doing anything else, you can’t, for instance, enjoy a game of chess while giving birth, and that makes it impossible to focus on anything other than the pain.

Examples of this kind of pain include a very painful fall, breaking a bone, burning yourself, giving birth, severe dog bites, getting a tattoo, kidney stones, and hemorrhoids.

While we often forget about these later, when they’re happening, they feel like the most significant thing in the world. They’re extremely bad, if you offered me $1,000 to get severely bitten by a dog, its teeth ripping off a chunk of my flesh, or have needles pierce my skin hundreds of times, I wouldn’t take the deal. Certainly I wouldn’t undergo childbirth for 1,000 dollars, especially if it was without anesthetic

Sadly, on average, the animals that we eat endure hundreds of hours of this kind of debilitating agony over the course of their life. They endure somewhere on the order of an hour a day of this pain.

I’ll just discuss one such case, the case of the egg-laying hen, with the facts gathered from this report. https://welfarefootprint.org/research-projects/laying-hens/Egg-laying hens in conventional farms endure about 400 hours (!!!!!) of this kind of disabling agony. Remember, this is agony about as bad as the worst thing that’s ever happened to you, unless you’ve had an experience as bad as being severely tortured. This is the agony that makes it impossible to think of anything else. The hens endure about an hour of a day of this extremely intense agony.

This intense pain comes from many sources including (this list is non-exhaustive):

Bone fractures.

The majority of hens experience a bone fracture over the course of their life. On average, they have three. Imagine if you broke the same bone three times This is, and I can’t emphasize this enough, what most hens deal with the industry that produces our eggs is so cruel that it breaks the bones of most hens multiple times.

In fact, the situation is much worse for hens than it would be for us because the area around their keel bone, which is the most common kind of fracture, has a huge number of nerves.

If more people were not overweight and more women had thigh gaps then people would need less calories and less meat. Every extra pound of fat equals a few more calories needed each day. Thinner people burn less calories per day
At least with muscle mass that is capable of doing work. But fat tissue more then 10% bodyfat for men or 20% for women in just dead weight that also wastes food

>>541879537
While such experiences in humans usually produce disabling pain for about a day, for chickens, such pain lasts about a week

Often the bone doesn’t heal properly, leading to constant intense agony

Injurious pecking.

In a hen's natural environment, she’ll spend most of her time pecking the ground looking for food. In a modern farm, hens can’t do that, so they spend a lot of their time pecking other hens, often leading to severe injury (just imagine that you were being bitten all the time by people surrounding you). It’s not terribly uncommon for hens to be pecked to death (seriously imagine what it would be like for that to happen) or for pecking to affect a hen’s body part known as the vent which is particularly sensitive (in this case, for the males reading this, imagine someone biting your balls). Often this becomes infected.

Every one of a hen’s natural behaviors are thoroughly squashed in the farms. Hens cannot make a nest prior to laying an egg, which causes them quite severe distress. Hens are willing to undergo strong electric shocks in order to get a suitable nest, about as strong as the electric shocks they’ll endure in order to get food after being starved for 28 hours (!!!!!). Remember, hens lay an egg roughly daily! This may not seem like a big deal, but only because we don’t appreciate the experience of being a nesting hen; an alien wouldn’t understand why we care about sex so much. Konrad Lorenz, a nobel prize winner summarized:
>>
File: IMG_2352.jpg (532 KB, 2048x1708)

>>541879712
>“The worst torture to which a battery hen is exposed is the inability to retire somewhere for the laying act. For the person who knows something about animals it is truly heart-rending to watch how a chicken tries again and again to crawl beneath her fellow-cage mates to search there in vain for cover”

Whenever you purchase a few cartons of eggs, you are consigning a chicken to living in these horrifying, excruciating conditions. Before you next purchase eggs, or chicken, or most any other animal product, though eggs are likely the worst, remember what the worst experience of your life is like, and vividly consider the fact that your purchase will likely cause others to endure many hours of an experience just as bad.
Tragically, the true scenario is much worse than that. Even worse than these scenarios of intense yet bearable pain are experiences that the authors of the report call excruciating pain. This is the sort of pain experienced when a person is brutally tortured or slowly eaten alive or burned to death for minutes; the sorts of pain that, if you’re really brave, you can read about in some detail here. https://www.simonknutsson.com/the-seriousness-of-suffering-supplement They’re horrible enough to take on an almost qualitatively different dimension, something most of us wouldn’t trade for many decades of happy life. This kind of pain is literally inconceivable, it’s so bad that many people who experience it attempt suicide. A hen might experience this right as she’s being trampled and pecked to death.
Hens experience, on average, about two and a half minutes of this horrifying agony.

>>541879675
Almost all eggs sold in supermarkets and restaurants in usa come from hens in battery cages
>>
>>541879790
The hundreds of hens that the average person eats over the course of their life (and yes, your consumption of eggs does cause more hens to be brought into existence, mistreated, and killed) mean that the average person is probably causing several hours of this unfathomable agony, the sort of agony one experiences in the minutes that they die from burning, boiling, being eaten alive, or suffocating to death; the kind of agony worse than being mauled by a dog, worse than childbirth, worse by orders of magnitude than anything you’ve ever experienced.

The kind of experience that, to take a contemporary example, George Floyd probably experienced for the minutes that he was suffocating. ( fentanyl impairs breathing)
The average meat eater causes hours of that!
This is why factory farming is such a great moral emergency. It’s the cause of agony beyond what we could hope to imagine. Amounts we cannot fathom of agony that we cannot fathom. It’s not just egg-laying hens that experience this; it’s ubiquitous in the entire factory farming industry. As Ren says in an https://forum.effectivealtruism.org/posts/xtcgsLA2G8bn8vj99/reminding-myself-just-how-awful-pain-can-get-plus-an#Miscellaneous_thoughts_and_takeaways article that’s very worth reading, describing her own experience with fairly intense pain:
A single broiler chicken experiences fifty hoursof

https://www.pain-track.org/broilers
[disabiling] pain during their lifespan, which lasts 4-6 weeks. There are 69 billion broilersslaughtered each year. That is so many hours of pain that if you divided those hours among humanity, each human would experience about 400 hours (2.5 weeks) of disabling pain every year. Can you imagine if instead of getting, say, your regular fortnight vacation from work or study, you experienced disabling-level pain for a whole 2.5 weeks?

Why do people disregard mankind's propensity for blocking out the violence they commit from their minds? It's always necked down to a man being a demon, and maybe once they allow themselves to do that, they are, but whether police activity, wartime violence or the need to eat, killing is part of life. I'm not saying I would want to be a factory farmer. I'd never apply to work in a slaughterhouse. I have experienced every example you gave except for birth. None of them are very bad unless you mean severe body-wide burns. The tattoos you described are tribal or yakuza type. A modern tattoo is not bad at all. It tickles and may feel like itching. Pain isn't the same as real fear of death. Try getting a severe allergic reaction and not knowing if you'll pass out and die while waiting for medication if you're lucky enough to reach a hospital. I've had 4th degree burns and it was just a learning experience, but waiting to potentially die is a very different experience. Ever been choked unconscious in a fight? You know what it's like to die. I've been declared dead twice and choked out twice, it isn't painful until you come back from it but it is absolutely the most scared you can ever be and pain is just a feeling.

The Cambridge declaration of consciousness and New York update to it totally agree that animals like birds and mammals are conscious to a significant degree

all those Cognitive neuroscientists, neuroanatomists, neurophysiologists, neuropharmacologists, computational neuroscientists, ethologists, behavioral biologists, theoretical physicists, philosophers, comparative psychologists, evolutionary biologists, neurologists, animal welfare scientists, legal scholars, professors of law, public law and human rights lecturers, computer scientists, veterinary professors, environmental studies scholars, chemical and biological engineers, linguists, and chief executive officers

Agree that all birds and mammals have a significant amount of consciousness
They can suffer a lot
They can also experience wellbeing

Is all just loosh farming?
>>
>>541877335
For the first time in history, humanity is at large completely disconnected from the notion of death. Even just a handful of decades ago, the majority of people, young kids included, would witness animals dying and reconcile themselves with the natural cycle of life by confronting it directly in a healthy way. As urbanization and industrialization finalized its expansion, this changed. The lack of this sort of stimulation during one's formative years makes them completely oblivious to their and other creatures' different roles in the world. When this happens, one's human sympathy does not limit itself onto other humans, but erroneously diffues itself onto animals and other creatures as well. There is nothing, and I am not being hyperbolic, more disgusting to me than someone who is empathetic towards animals and thinks of their death and/or suffering as an inherent tragedy. These people somehow manage to transfer the most spiritually depraved ideology ever created by man, utilitarianism, and apply it outside of the human scope. Your moral compass is defected. I do not trust you to have any meaningful contribution to the market place of ideas. These obscene people are unfortunately responsible for most of the criticism hurled towards factory farming due to their fanatism and therefore poison the discussion surrounding it, alienating well mannered people, those who have humanity centered ideals, from the discussion. We should not rape the land and the animals. When an animal subservient to a human dies or suffers, it's a righteous thing to feel for it and even cry. Working at a slaughter house might indeed make you batshit insane. But the conclusions drawn by these people from these basic notions are detestable.

We need regulations banning infant circumcision. I’d also support regulations that make the procedure more expensive and requiring much more paperwork, mandatory waiting periods, etc anything to decrease infant circumcision rates. Require doctors to take a 3 year class before they are allowed to perform the operation
>>
>>541879243
>Think about it
depends. if you cherry pick the situation you can find some bleak shit no doubt. not defending all of it, but you do realize without me eating chickin there would be no chickin to live, at all.
all the animals I eat have a life because of me. I directly pay for them living on this planet. now you can argue if conditions are shit and they don't live for long then it's not the best deal for them, and you would be right. but not in all cases.
so, I eat burger I pay for cow to have a life in a nice farm. I do not eat burger cow doesn't exist at all. cow denied experience.
and a living cow dies anyway, at some point. maybe even in more pain, naturally. so there is a strong argument if I am paying for the cow to experience life on Erf, it's worth it at some point, to eat it, it dies painlessly, it would die anyway at some point, so we're debating the loss of less than half its life here.
but without me, that cow don't exist at all, it has no life, no experience. I condemn the potentially existing cow to absolute and total nothingness.
I think THAT is even more horrible. so you see, eating a hamburger once in a while is literally paying for cute animals to experience life on Erf. I should be celebrated and rewarded for upkeeping animals and paying for their welfare and shelter/food/medicine.
this is not debatable.
>>
>>541889223
This argument only works if the animal lives a mostly good life. Almost all farm animals in places like usa and Australia today do not.

Why have your utilitarian view towards farm animals but not towards children with tay sacs?
>>
>>541889406
>This argument only works if the animal lives a mostly good life
I said that in the opening of my reply. yes, I know, my point was that at some point it's clearly worth it more to become meat eater because this way you bring more good to this Erf. like objectivelly speaking.
after all, the discussion is about cute animals and their feefees and shit, their experience here. isn't it?

>muh I need it
EXACTLY. I cannot afford to pay for cows enjoying life without getting sustenace from it. it's symbiosis you see... it works out for both parties.
>>
>>541889534
Yes Thats one way to look at it but I still see many issues

The biggest is that it is not possible to feed 8 billion people a diet with a significant amount of humane pasture raised animal products. Theres not enough land and resources. So isn’t a vegan world easier then a 80% vegan 15 percent factory farm 5% pasture raised world? How would that work at scale?
>>541889658
True
>>
>>541889810
>Theres not enough land and resources.
stop giving it to thirdies. make it more expensive while raising their life quality.
the very same argument can be proposed for human beings. why are they allowed to procreate like crazy? on average 1 child per couple means number of humans is dropping fast. every couple gets to have a child, nobody denying the experience. but not 10 like some groups are practicing.
there's a lot of religious backed shit to boost the numbers of certain religious groups, they pump out 10 kids on couple. stop telling me to drop eating cows man, shame people who have more than 1 child that are not twins. don't even address me on the topic. I have none. I deserve the cow and the hamburgers. the more you pump kids the less you're deserving.
but you won't go after the infinity babies religious groups, they'll shut your argument down, with the full might of the media aparatus and psyops. and somehow you will still find your way to me, asking me take shorter showers and eat fucking beans for life
>>
>>541889716
>EXACTLY. I cannot afford to pay for cows enjoying life without getting sustenace from it.

Vegan farm animal sanctuaries can.
>it's symbiosis you see... it works out for both parties.

In theory sure. But I have concerns about commodifying animals even humanely leading to animals being commodified and treated non humanely. It’s a slippery slope when people want humane animal products which require more resources and believe animal products are required for human health because there’s not enough land and resources for 8 billion people to consume lots of pasture raised humane animal products
>>
>>541890050
I’m not religious and I agree with a lot of what you’re saying. Unfortunately the people currently in power who control politics, media, etc want 2% year over year gdp growth every year and they want population growth and are willing to bring in immigrants to make it happen.

How would this work? If people suddenly had only 1 kid each who would take care of the aging population? Just let them die?
>>
>>541890357
deconstruct your argument. why are we many? our work is needed. for what? partly to keep the rest alive. why isn't the state doing it? it's down to us, keep eachother alive, after keeping ourselves alive, and providing value to society through our work.
so basically we're being scammed in a sense. way too much is asked from us. they figured they'd bootstrap this system without them paying anything for it. cattle takes care of themselves.
but with more and more automation and upcoming ai robot revolution, less and less people are needed. state should pay for everyone, that's their promise anyway isn't it? with UBI? isnt' that the literal state paying for everyone?
>>
>>541890486
I’m not sure if ASI and automation UBI will happen in my lifetime or not. I wouldn’t plan on it and even if the technology existed for it to be possible I would not trust that it’d be used benevolently.

Covid showed many people are working useless daycare jobs.

In many parts of the world I seriously doubt many people will change their parents diapers for a few years, many don’t love their parents enough or are too individualistic or selfish
>>
>>541890658
if productivity had a steady increase with industrialisation you cannot argue state doesn't have more than before it. someone somewhere is doing more with less humans. but still pays taxes on that productivity/sales.
and anyway, the order in which you attack people is go for religious groups pumping infinity kids, next go after thirdies pumping infinity kids (why should I pay for their 20 kids lol), and lastly after you fixed the above you may have a say to your white western man. regarding his energy use and the amount of meat he's having.

I guess trump is starting to do that with usaid cuts, lots of children will die in the short term from them.

How would you reduce the birth rates in communities like the Amish? Compulsory public education?

Another concern I have is that while reducing the amount of humans on earth would allow for more humane pasture raised animal products and less factory farming less humans would mean more wild animal suffering. More humans and more human infrastructure reduces wild animal especially wild insect populations and it seems most wild animals especially wild insects live mostly bad lives.
>>
>>541891306
>lots of children will die in the short term from them.
a buddy gave me his laptop a while back. he got a new one and his old one is still nice. now you see, from now on I am not entitled to him giving me a laptop once in a while just because he did it once. would be cool, but won't hold it against him if he never does. he does have more than I have, but he can still do whatever the fuck he wants with this shit. even if I really needed something he can give away, he has his own shit to deal with as well. I'm grateful if he gibs another one, but not really EXPECTING it. even worse, if he doesn't start chimping out at him lmao, that would be pretty shit and he would be entitled to cut ties with me for pulling that shit. I would.

>>541891306
>How would you reduce the birth rates in communities like the Amish? Compulsory public education?
welp, I guess you'll have to figure it out isn't it? not sure why everything thinks they are entitled to infinity kids. they sure would like to maintain that status que because it benefits them long term. that's why the religious groups are doing it, to assemble drones that serves their cause. doesn't mean you should allow it unchecked. it's retarded.
>Another concern I have is that while reducing the amount of humans on earth would allow for more humane pasture raised animal products and less factory farming less humans would mean more wild animal suffering. More humans and more human infrastructure reduces wild animal especially wild insect populations and it seems most wild animals especially wild insects live mostly bad lives.
that's silly. you have no say in what happens outside of human action. if you leave a city and nature is taking it over, whatever happens there is not your doing, life does that, anywhere on Earth. it's not up to us to police all life on Earth.
your line of thinking implies sterilizing Earth, along with us, for least suffering. it's silly nonsense. we wouldn't exist without that.
>>
>>541891774

It doesn’t imply efilism. Most humans don’t live bad lives also I’m not a pure hedonist I think other intrinsic goods like relationships exist. Nature is extremely brutal but civilization is not so I want more civilization and less nature, as much as possible. If it’s impossible to get rid of all of nature because then civilization would collapse from lack of oxygen or something then I want to get rid of as much nature as possible without collapsing civilization
>>
>>541892037
I think theoretically like sci-fi shit in the future you can have an army of ASIs figure out a way to redirect all life towards "clean energy" as it were. simple first principles take obviously. and have a cap on population size. this way they're not eating eachother and they have an energy source.
but it would all look very differently, it would work out differently at scale
>>
>>541892297

>>541892383
we used to do that here. in a sense. feed wild bears in the woods, at certain locations. kept them deeper in the woods, fed, wouldn't interact much with tourists. it's nothing new.
but yeah, still meat. doubt we wont' be able to engineer good food in the future. don't think there's anything that makes that scientifically impossible or smth.
>>
>>541892617

>>
>>541892776
it could be shit and dangerous, sub par. could be religious reasons, economical ones. there's a lot of good shit that is not happening, or happening slow, because religious drones are melting down over it, because it fucks with other sources of income, or steps on their toes, so lobbying against it. humans are a fucking mess that way. as long as society needs cretins working it has to kowtow to their idiotic ideas or they chimp out.

I grew up on a small (5 acre) farm, and we raised our own chickens and turkeys. We had a flock of ~25 laying hens, and every spring/summer we'd raise ~50 chickens for meat. My job was to take care of them, and I did so from the age of 7.
When it was time to butcher, I'd take the chicken, carry it to the stump, place its head gently between two nails, my dad would hold its feet and pull back a touch, and I'd swiftly chop its head off with an axe. Minimum pain, minimum suffering, not terribly difficult to do.

That's not even the same ballpark as that horror show of cow slaughter I just witnessed, hell it's not even the same fucking game. The CEOs of that meat company all need to be gassed.
