>why the fuck 4chan is on cloudflare when its not even mandatory
>>
>>541894258

>>>/g/ pls

I havent seen fastly causing a downtime (firefox servers use it)

So no idea what you are talking about
>>
>>541894214
maybe.
but i primarily use it for two things on my site:
>making sure visitors cant find the IP address of the VPS my site actually exists on. instead cloudflare acts as a proxy.
>automatic CSAM image scanning to make sure nobody uploads CP
>>
if im not mistaken, if not for cloudflare and services like it, any user could get the IP address of the physical machine an app/site is hosted on and attack it.

A decade ago was 2016 and 4chan was pretty stable then ;)
You're talking about 20-22 years ago at the start of 2000s. That's when 4chan died and came back over 9000 times.
But this was primarily due to the cost of hosting the site. Maybe there were some DDoS attacks too, but none that I can recall.

He's talking about something you weren't probably alive for yet; see above.
