Some anon explained the monty hall problem by generalising to 100 doors, what you could do is the same by generalising to two day weeks, only monday and tuesday.

Each child could be one of four things
Monday Boy, Tuesday Boy, Monday Girl, Tuesday Girl.

So you get a space of

TB TB
TB MB
TB TG
TB MG
MB TB
TG TB
MG TB

Those are the only possible "worlds" where at least one child is a tuesday boy right ? Making it seven equally likely possibilities.

The only ones that have two boys are

See here, it's a form of filtering. They START you at the point where at least one is a boy, and that's a filter inherently. They filtered out all the GG families already, that option is not on the table anymore. It's deliberately worded this way.
In the natural setting of no filter (them not saying either way if it's a boy or girl) the answer would be 50%, but having a boy acts as a filter and removes GG.

The original mathematician also included a way to "balance" it. If the family is truly randomly selected instead of filtering the statement changes in quality, and the probability goes back to 1/2. They have to add in a possibility of GG, which they've removed for the OP example. You aren't dealing with a random family at this point.
Basically imagine a coin toss but where you discard all results starting with heads (but still toss two coins), that's filtering a very specific section, HH. You can still have TH, though.
