Why do leftists hate data centers so much?
>>
>>541925770
Because you touch yourself at night.
>>
>>541925932
someone is having a melty lol
>>
>>541925770
How do data centers pollute water
>>
you'd think creative artists could use ai to make cool stuff
>>
Fuck off with all this effort to shove love and hate for AI into right or left
Its good when we agree on something
>>
>>541925770
For the same reason they just got hit with more regulations under GOP leadership in Texas; there isn't a resource infrastructure in place to support them. They push the physical limits of what they demand and need to be encouraged to provide their own energy or give time to build up ways to accommodate them first.

Then there's the increasing rates for utilities. The public foots the bill and subsidizes them. Sure then there is noise pollution and environmental factors. Then there is the lack of regulation for the spread of AI images making people crazier, less informed, while replacing workers. The jobs they provide don't offset jobs lost.
>>
>>541925770
The tech indusrty is right wing now, sure. Lying may be convenient but never a good luck.
>>
>>541925770
I'm more right wing than 98% of people and am anti data centers because they are a retarded waste of money and time with very little useable ROI. It pisses me off the only way we are going to actually get some new nuclear plants is fall for the AI Jew scam
>>
>>541926066
The incredibly retarded cooling system most data centers use. Seriously look it up I am astounded how fucking retarded it is. Still a non issue compared to raping the global supply chain for semiconductors and the million of man hours needed for mostly useless data centers and the gigawatts of power needed to fuel them
>>
>>541925770
>1pbtid
>Retards tripping over their own feet in a hurry to post the earliest, snappiest reply
Jeets are right to assume that it's easy to trick and conquer White people, apparently.
>>
>>541926918
>1pbtid
>In an I minute old thread
No shit retard. I agree with the rest though
>>
>>541927029
Yeah give it five minutes, we both know how this is gonna go.
>>
>>541925770
They are buying land in safe areas where kids play outside
Jj fish cunt is clueless
>>
>>541925770

Same reason why they hate nuclear power plants.
>>
>>541926852

Are they mixing something into the water? How is it creating pollution other than higher temp water discharge?
>>
Being able to ask a computer a question in natural human language and it replying back the same was the holy grail since the start of computers. Now the cattle who asked for it the most are OBSESSED with hating this very cool and future pilled tech. There are now old fat retarded women saying shit like the darn datacenter nearby made me have a miscarriage and the news shill this without challenge. I'm unbothered.
>>
>>541927794
Because most data centers dont use close loop systems. They dump all the thermal energy into giant cooling towers and just let it evaporate. This would obviously be fine if it wasn't too much water being used but some of these places use literal millions of gallons a day in areas where that much water being removed is a major deal
>>
>>541928238

So acting the same as nuclear cooling tower. Got it.
>>
Manufactured consensus thread
>>
>>541925770
Everyone hates them. The painting everyone who doesn't as a leftist has got to be the laziest glownigging yet. You've been replaced by ai haven't you?
>>
>>541925770
They hate progress
>>
>>541928626
Except my life is improved by having electricity
My life is not improved by botnets processing my data and generating slop and filling the internet with bullshit and reducing the number of office jobs (thus lowering wages for the remainder)
>>
>>541925770
because the only people who support it are still nimbys. you don't see conservatives moving TOWARDS ai centers

(not in my back yard)
>>
>>541927381
Leftists are German?
>>
>>541929271

They're both retarded.

>>541929034

I'm just looking into the cooling mechanism of the whole thing. Those opposing data centers are trying to portray that the water used in the cooling is forever tainted from contact with the cooling apparatus.
>>
>>541925770
"& racism"

Is this guy saying data centers don't like niggers?
>>
>>541925770
progressives make art that might as well be ai
>>
>>541925770
>technofascists want to destroy art
too late. liberals already did that.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Pov0MKuyJfg&ra=m
>>
>>541925770
Because AI is controlled by white(Jewish really but leftists don't understand that) male, centrist capitalists. They understand perfectly well that these people gaining power means less power for leftists.
>>
>>541925770
And they told us jews were smart. heh
>>
It made my electronics more expensive and it made the internet shittier. That sucks.
I don't think you can stop the progression of technology though. The white papers are out there. Local models are out there. People will continue to make this stuff elsewhere if the US is retarded enough to outlaw it.

We should build them but there should be consumer protections in place. Build data centers in the desert with zero use of public utilities. Force nand/gpu companies to set aside a certain amount of their product for the consumer market.

Do you consider yourself a "rightist"? Do you like datacentres?

>how?

but that isn't pollution you fucking retarded kike
go get a script update from moloch inside the nearest tophet

leftists hating datacenters isn't really as surprising as supposed "conservatives" (read: neocons) actually being psyop'd into being fine with resources being burned to churn out valueless slop and lower the general populace's critical thinking skills even further than they've already been, all with control of it being centralized.
if you think you're a "social conservative" and you actually like AI outside of decentralized applications put towards niche use cases like specifically modeled pattern recognition problems, you probably don't understand what social conservatism actually is
>>
>>541936409
what resources are burned?

the big one isn't water (though this can still be an issue when constructed in areas with limited city water supplies, since most of them rely on evaporative cooling and don't use industrial water) but electricity, putting a massive, always-on strain on the grid which it isn't currently equipped to handle. electricity bills go up, fuel prices go up, your water bill goes up if you're in an area where its more scarce, and almost all of it is being used to generate output with essentially no new value as LLMs can only parrot back information they've been trained on
>>
>>541939283
>THE STRAIN TRUST ME GOYIM
lmao kill yourself useful idiot
>>
>>541925770
Can AI help us exterminate the the niggers finally? I'm fed up.
>>
>>541926066
Warm water promotes algae. It's like that anywhere that discharges.
>>
>>541925770
They don't run the country anymore, so these data centers will not be used to advance their policies.
>>
>>541925770

you know what else is built in low income areas and pollutes the water and neighborhood ? Migrant housing.
>>
>>541930939
No, it'll just get sucked from groundwater reservoirs in rates that massively exceed replenishment.

Groundwater generally requires little treatment to be fit for human consumption.

Surface water, which is what you get from rainwater, requires more, because fish fuck in it . Supposing your watersheds water doesn't get blown elsewhere

And, yes, glycol is toxic. Propylene much less so than ethylene, but my position is that companies claiming trillions in unrealized profits do not get to externalize any costs of doing business.
>>
>>541940720
>THE GROUNDWATER GOYIM EVAPORATION DOESN'T GO BACK INTO THE WATER TABLE IT VANISHES FOREVER YOU FUCKING IDIOT GOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
>>
>>541940720

You're saying that somehow water used in cooling will come into contact with glycol and propylene?
>>
>>541933702
they're not even trying anymore with the D+C
>>
>>541925770
Because they're mostly faggots
>>
>>541925770
The whole data center thing is the biggest scam ever, the new models only require that much energy or compute. The only reason they're doing this is money laundering and they can take farmland why do you think they keep building these things out in the farm areas. They're doing what they did to Russia right before the revolution where they set everything up, and then you dumbasses don't see it until you locked in the new gulag, read about Russia read about what happened there and the same things happen here. From the trust the plan crap which is literally based on operation trust to putting a fool like Donald Trump in charge so that all conservative ideas are gotten rid of.
>>
Just drink less water goy
>>
>>541925770
Because that is where the latest grift money is.
ccp payments for hating datacenters.
All the left is, is a grift.
>>
>>541925770
Funny considering chips act under biden set the groundwork for this
>>
They hate AI. There wasn't a peep from them about data centers for decades when they were CPU compute and storage. They hate AI because it has the potential to remove gatekeepers from media creation which is their primary means of social control.
>>
>>541941121
Exactly this. They are panicking because they accidentally gave goyim the ability to circumvent every industry they control.
>>
>>541940928
In many places, yes. They are used to lower the freezing point of water. This is pretty important if you want to run free cooling in wintry conditions. Freezing coolant water would foul the pipes and require downtime. Data center operators expect less than a few hours of downtime a year.

Data centers are industrial facilities, and SV scammers hope polities don't understand this in permitting
