You have a very strange commute, if it's not worth it you should move, or get a job that's closer man.
>>
If your start time is 7 am and you arrive at 7 am, you are late

Your need to be on the production floor with your user logged in and all your tools ready at 7am, so we advice you arrive at 6:30am

If you dont like it, quit

One of the best things I ever got to help get a nice work/life balance was an Aperture Portal Gun. I've got it set up with a portal open in the stationery cupboard at work - to which only I've got the keys... and on one of the walls in my downstairs toilet... which I don't use that much. So commute time for me? Literally zero seconds if I count being in my dowstairs toilet as being in my house... which I do.
Before I got the gun, I used to get the metro, and there were two changes... it used to take 35 to 40 mins each way every day. I've worked it out, and with the portal gun, the time I'm saving is like getting an extra day off every two weeks.
>>
For literally all of known history, those born not into wealth or celebrity had to work. The working class has to work. That’s just how it is, but for some reason this simple fact makes modern people piss and shit themselves.

I have a 1 hour 15 minute commute and it is paradise. I've listened to more than two dozen audiobooks, I can blast some Blind Guardian or Cattle Decap if I've had a hard day, and I'm unwound and ready for the kiddos by the time I get home.
I thought a $500 car payment for a brand new Toyota would be a nightmare but it's worth it for what I spend almost 3 hours sitting in every weekday. I even get to deduct the interest. Thanks Trump! MAGA! FAAARRRTT!

Humans tribes were doing their version of working for 15 hours a week. And somehow humans “advanced” to thinking working more than double that many hours is a luxury.

Well, you're in luck, wagie, because your benevolent employer overlords are working hard trying to solve this problem for you as we speak.

>step one: send people home to work
>oops, now we have a bunch of empty office space and not enough living space
>step two: convert unused office space into communal common area living pods
>step three: rent wagie's previous wage cage back to the wagie as a now converted living pod/wage cage

It's the perfect solution. No more commute for the wagies, and employers get to charge wagies rent for their wage cage. It's a win win for everyone, and midwit wage cattle are going to fucking love it.

If you're on a salary, there is always an expectation you work extra. So if you were under the impression you'd put 37.5 or 40 hours in, they'll add 5 hours too it. If your commute is an hour, at 2 hours onto that 5 days per week. It quickly takes over your life. You start doing 12+ hour shifts effectively.
>>
>>541975077
You have to get up and get ready no matter what you're doing with your day. You also have to travel to where you need to be.
>>
>>541975077
in spain it's even worse, the standard is 9 to 6 instead of 9 to 5. so its actually 7 to 7 here.

its actually 0 to 0 because:
>cant teleport to work
>the chores you have to do at home are a bigger portion of the little time you have left
>if you dont get good sleep, cant nap, your whole day is fucked
>people need time to unwind. you can't just go home and rush to whatever you were going to do with your free time, you need to kinda just relax sometimes. but if you do that, you don't have time for anything else other than dinner and going to bed, and then you have a whole day in a cage ahead of you again.
being a wagie is fucked up, i hate society so much, because we could argue all day about which economic system is best, which is more efficient, economic calculation, the effects of planning, etc etc, but at the end of the day, people are selfish and fucked up in all of them, and society just sucks

society is mostly a mass of NPCs with no inner dialogue, and a few psychopaths abusing them, most of whom are also NPCs, not actually smarter, but they have a special talent to read and manipulate people so they're on top. and then there's a minor amount of visionary NEETs, keeping a low profile because people can't be helped.
>>
>>541979464
Yeah so?

If you go take a walk in the park for 20 minutes, and the park is 15 minutes away, that took 50 minutes of your time. It doesnt matter that you also have to travel to other places.

Same with work.

This was different before industrial revolution, just read the bible, people didn't use to be stuck in a cage all day for a job and then have some time for themselves, their whole day was doing their job here and there and also having a life. Like if your job was to take care of some goats, you kinda took care of them 24/7 but had your own life in between. You didn't have to act busy if the goats were fine, and you weren't stuck anywhere.

So? Compared to europeans, asian people are genetically predisposed to comply the same way africans are genetically predisposed to steal. This shapes the way their societies are.

This doesn't change the fact that we don't have to work 9-9-6 because they do, the current trend of
>we have to work more guys!! europe is failing because you won't work hard enough!!
Is a useless bureaucrat trope and demonstrably a lie.

In fact, we'd arguably be better off if everyone worked only in the mornings. Of course this would lead to a reduction in material conditions, only a redditor would think that only "the corporate bottom line" would be hurt and grocery store shelves would be as full. But maybe it'd be worth it, maybe we'd still be better off.

I genuinely don't know what to do at this point.
I'm 32 laid off living with my parents.
Went back to community college to keep them off my back.
Made 25 an hour.
Got offered 27 an hour at a different place and I said no thanks (this was 6 months after I got laid off)
I need to find a way to make 40 dollars an hour and fast.
But I can't.
There's no point to wagecucking anymore. You can't have a small house anymore. Everything just gets worse. I destroyed my brain sleeping 5 hours a night for 5 years working in that factory. Almost dohbled my salary, and for what? Inflation ate it all.

I don't know what to do at this point. Lrn2code is a joke, CompTIA is a joke. I thought about learning mobile car detailing but it looks like a joke too.
>>
My walk to work is half an hour and I just listen to music or podcasts which is basically what I'd be doing at home anyway.
>>
>>541975077
that's why they pay you $180,000 to show up, and if they don't, they are robbing you, even if you agreed to work, all at will working agreements or codes of conduct and employee handbooks are null and void and agreed under duress; therefore, do the right thing in matters of style and taste, and to bring honor to the Lord Jesus Christ, but there is no loyalty or responsibility to pirates, and if they pay you less than $180,000 - you work for pirates.

>I need to find a way to make 40 dollars an hour and fast.
you could just lie on your resume.

you mentioned learning to code is a joke, maybe if you learn to code and also add fake experience to your resume and get good at interviewing, it would work. same goes for any other job. like sales or whatever. though i think you need to be a chad for sales.

i dont think people get good jobs without lying, unless they're giga good goys that always please their boss, and the things I would say in an interview (as in, I got raises and promotions at previous employers, no employment gaps, lots of accomplishments etc) are real to them

>There's no point to wagecucking anymore. You can't have a small house anymore. Everything just gets worse.
its because boomers are stealing from you.

due to low birth rates as well as boomer's tendency to always vote, they dominate elections and politicians cater to them.

catering to boomers could mean many things. it could mean helping younger people do better in life, if boomers cared about that. it could mean making society better as a whole, if that was important to boomers. however, what is actually important to boomers is stealing money from younger people. as boomers dominate elections, the system tends to do this.

bureaucracy is set up to steal money from younger generations to give to boomers in different ways, i'll explain in another message
>>
>>541985006
how boomers steal from you:

>high home prices are not by chance of "le ebil capitalism", they are government mandated, by limiting how many new homes can be built compared to population increases. trump openly admitted this btw. he said something like "I could bring down home prices in a day, but I won't, I want landlords to be nice and rich" he meant he will keep imposing high prices in this way. conservatives responded positively to this because most people have no inner dialogue or ability to think, so they responded to the stimulus of it sounding similar to other conservative messaging, however, if looked at logically, this is the opposite, as its a literal handout .
>money printing. inflation is from money printing and the reason for the affordability crisis. however, it increases stock market values and gives the government more money for social security pensions and other benefits for boomers. however, it is cruel to people with a job who can afford less and less, own no stocks, and are not old
>high income taxes. if younger people dominated elections, governments would have a big incentive to bring income taxes down, however, they don't. it just doesn't matter that much in terms of winning elections. high pensions for boomers from those taxes, as well as handouts for different paid voter bases (like immigrants) unironically gives them more votes compared to not increasing taxes as much

the only way they can't steal from you is if you either stop paying taxes altogether by somehow not declaring your income (you'd still pay high home prices and face inflation, however, you'd compete for homes with people who pay taxes, so that would make things more affordable), but this of course would have repercussions from the government including violent repercussions, which is the whole point of taxes and how boomer living standards are guaranteed, or if you leave the country altogether. in many places, you'd do well as an english teacher or something.
