One of the best things I ever got to help get a nice work/life balance was an Aperture Portal Gun. I've got it set up with a portal open in the stationery cupboard at work - to which only I've got the keys... and on one of the walls in my downstairs toilet... which I don't use that much. So commute time for me? Literally zero seconds if I count being in my dowstairs toilet as being in my house... which I do. Before I got the gun, I used to get the metro, and there were two changes... it used to take 35 to 40 mins each way every day. I've worked it out, and with the portal gun, the time I'm saving is like getting an extra day off every two weeks.

I have a 1 hour 15 minute commute and it is paradise.
