Basically starting from the 1980s we transitioned into Saudi Arabia but iron ore and coal instead of oil. Before mining dominated the economy and the globalists(Keating, Howard, etc) opened(i.e. sold) Australia we had a lot of decent, local industry including car and electronics manufacturing.
