According to A.I if it was to inhabit Bouvet Island along with this Moth, The Moth would eventually become flightless and climb onto the Flowers, perhaps on cliffs/screes.

I think it's time Humans made more species. Here's a new species of Fairy Lantern.

based anon raising awareness. i semi-frequently receive packets of forget-me-not sneeds in random junk mail, which i promptly discard. i refuse to be responsible for propagating invasive plants. gardening is one area where you can unironically be as racist as you want and say "no i'm not planting something cuz it's from asia/europe/whatever"

A good stance although some Forget-Me-Nots are indeed native to North America, like M. verna or M. macrosperma although this depends on ecoregion as well.

Natural hybrid, this is how we got Nicotiana tabacum (cultivated tobacco). It's a cross between Nicotiana sylvestris and Nicotiana tomentosiformis on the slopes of the Andes mountains 100k years ago. Somewhere in that process was a chromosome doubling and is why, through cultivation, breeding and selection, we have thousands of varieties from one species.

i forget the exact species, but i did check the botanical names and determined they were indeed non-native. i usually tolerate such plants until they become a problem (forsythia is a good example of "will keep," chinese wisteria is a "murder on sight"), but i wouldn't consciously plant a non-native plant without a very specific reason such as it producing a unique fruit

I'm about to go "hybridize" my shimp with some garlic sauce brb

I love Tobacco, the Pre-Incas clearly knew what they were doing. Apparently the Incas themselves had an experimental lab up in the Andes where they used to hybridise such and much more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FM-UWD-zIPY

I'm quite surprised seed junk mail is legal considering laws on importation/exportation. The fact they are doing this with non-native species is rather concerning even if well intentioned.

Interestingly enough... Chile has two Forget-Me-Not species more related to the Australasian species than the Nearctic species, essentially Trans-South Pacific migration.
