It's more than that. The whole currency (usd, euro, yen), is going to crash and burn.
They only way to fix that is to create a new currency and back it with something valuable itself (gold, silver), otherwise nobody is going to use it at all.
Nobody is going to use the old currency because it's hyperinflating, nobody is going to use any new currency because it could also hyperinflate in exactly the same way and nobody can assure you it won't, the only way is to provide a physical proof that hyperinflation won't happen, by creating a gold backing and allow you to actually redeem the gold.
But that means exactly the same idea: they have to create productive businesses and they cannot under any circumstance afford to keep the diversity leeches around.
They have to sell valuable goods and services (not just games) to everyone.
But they can't because all straight white males walked out and there's nobody productive around to achieve that and none of them ever want to come back either.
So they have to kill everyone competent enough because they are the ones capable of rebuilding everything without them. If they fail, they all die instead and white males rule societies again. If they achieve it, the brown sludge can be controlled to do what they want, those who don't are going to die on their own.
This is why the idea that all academics are on the kill list if things go south exists. This is the real samson option. If they can't win, they have to take down at the same time everyone that can challenge them.
