So, the US started instigating unrest and separatism there, hoping to bring it down in that manner. Tibet, Xinjiang, Hong Kong, - have all been attempts to crash the country from within and force it give in to Western influence. All of that has failed and now US only has Taiwan up their sleeve, but not for very long, likely.
