The biggest problem was forced confessions and trial by ordeal but those types of things are entirely unnecessary with modern forensic science. I move that we go back to a justice system that uses corporal punishment and humiliation as a deterrent and doesn't give af why the defendant did it. A synergy of the old and new method so we can be certain the person swinging from a rope is definitely guilty.
