I noticed a disturbing trend among kids in my city. I drive around my city for fun. And all last summer I noticed none of the kids go outside to play even after school now that it is the school year. What gives? What is happening? I live in a mostly White city.

Kids are fatter and clumsier and hurt themselves more on platforms and jungle gyms, so they're being taken out. Doesn't help that it's expensive to maintain so there's more of an incentive to get rid of them. Picrel is a rough equivalent of my favorite playground from my childhood.
