My uncle's basement had a massive TV back when that was still pretty impressive in the early 00s, a pool table, and arcade machines (pac man and donkey kong). He didn't really go into the tatty decorations and theming, though. He did have a really nice wrap around black leather couch for the TV room but otherwise it was fairly spartan in terms of furniture. The walls were painted, it had popcorn ceilings, the carpet was that really hard, dense kind you see in offices, just slapped on top of the concrete basically, provided barely any insulation or padding. But there were also 2 bedrooms downstairs in addition to the recreation area, and I usually stayed in one when I visited them. They were pretty well furnished with better, thicker carpeting and some pictures on the walls. I think the rec area was so spartan cause his own kids could get rambunctious, so there was just less stuff to break down there.

Then you have the sound system and his gigantic, custom themed TV that probably set him back tens of thousands of dollars as well. His gaming PC isn't cheap either, even when this video was made which is before the current shortage issues which caused prices to skyrocket for parts. That rig is at least $3000, and probably a lot more than that given this guy doesn't seem like he bargain hunts and just buys whatever the top-rated brand is, I doubt he could even tell you the final price tag because money was clearly no object to him. If that PC were made today, the GPU alone would cost at least $2000, and with the price of hard drives and other components going up getting it for less than $4000 would be a steal, if you insist on buying top-of-the-line brand new parts for the whole thing. That is a lot of money to drop on a mere hobby.
