Anyone curious about studying the Trivium should start with Sister Miriam's book. It will give you a good preview & overview of what you'll be studying at length & in depth. >>542060964A classical education is beyond worthless and is exactly the type of education that evolved into the equally worthless general liberal arts degree. You can’t use it for anything, but you will be used for others as you search for some sort of meaning for the years you’ve wasted.

>>542068385Completely wrong. The purpose of a classical education was not the education itself but the connections you, or rather your sons, could make with other hopefully affluent kids. When it was brought to the masses it had lost all meaning except for scamming the stupid and anxious middle class out of their money.
>>542068671No, the purpose of a classical education is to liberate you by moving your mind into the realm of pure eternal ideas. This has been the privilege of a small percentage of the population. The rest has deliberately been deprived of it in order to enslave them.https://www.zhibit.org/diemythographer/die-mythographer-die/occasional-letter-number-one-2006https://archive.org/details/greatconversatio030336mbphttps://archive.org/details/sayers1948losttoolslearninghttps://archive.org/details/TheUndergroundHistoryOfAmericanEducation_643https://archive.org/details/pdfy-SYN9t0cHh1aFu8XVhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZp7eVJNJuw
Most Catholic schools still teach using classical education methods and have defended the right to private education in America since the start. Obviously, Catholics have no problem with the idea of public schools (as in "education should be available for all"), but "for some reason" the early argument FOR public schools was always paired with banning private religious schools. Unfortunately, you will be hear instead: "Catholics hated public education cause they didn't wanted anybody to be smart, and they don't want nobody to read The Bible at all." and then you will send your kids to public rainbow school to be taught leftist propaganda by some faggot satanic communist. Realistically, this thread will most likely descend into: "Catholics were the ones who hid the trivium!" even though the Church was the only place one could learn it in Europe for almost a thousand years. And no, nobody is hiding it from anyone, it's just not taught in public schools because public schools are about teaching social cohesion to future laborers and funcopop collectors.
>>542071262Nope, the purpose of public school has since its inception been to suppress the Trivium for the masses.
>>542061290The intellectual standards of classical education are much higher than modern schooling. Pic 8th grade exam from 1912.
>>542071621The idea of it is not suppressed or hidden. That would be like saying: "Public schools are suppressing horticulture and animal husbandry!", they aren't hiding it by not teaching it. Do they teach the trivium? No. In the early years the focus was on the liberal arts, but as I said, public schools in the modern era are about learning enough of the basics to fall into social conditioning through the press, the media, and the norms of your peers, in order that you to become a generic member of society and become stuck in the paradigms of modern values. Am I arguing for the superiority of public schools? No. However, the trivium is not some magical hidden thing either, it is just an early method of teaching that is nowhere near hidden, and the subject matter of it is available for anyone to learn at any time just like horticulture or animal husbandry.

>>542060964Exactly.
>>542068257Excuse me, retard, but the term “liberal arts” itself originally referred to the seven disciplines as described by the Trivium and Quadrivium. What you yourself refer to as the “liberal arts” is the globohomo elite’s corruption of the term’s original meaning.Your point is so ass-backwards that in actuality you are arguing against yourself.
