I was homeless for a few years due to mental illness. My dad never spoke to me even once during this time or ever again for that matter. My mom saw me a few times and gave me some petty cash. My grandparents eventually took me into their home and helped me get better. I know I'm not owed anything in this life but it's hard not to be sour over the way I was rejected by my parents.
