Saying a Latino is white or brown is like saying an American is white, black or asian. They are just labels of culture, language and geograph but not race. There are latino that are 100% black, 100% brown (native), 100% asian, 100% white, and the any mix in between. Same as in the states or canada. It's a case by case thing. Some 90% german in argentina is different than some native indigenous person from ecuador or some shit. The way I see americans use the word white, it's usually used to mean of pure germanic descent exclusively. Imo this ironically causes north america to only get the brownest and blackest of latinos. While those who are more white will just opt for Europe where they won't be as grouped in with indios and negros
