Who was on the right side of the war - Greeks or Trojans? Redpill me.
>>
poseidon
>>
>>542105213

Which of the gods do you worship? There's your answer.
>>
>>542105213
The Greeks for declaring a civilization-destroying war that they wanted anyway.
The Trojans for not just immediately kicking that woman out and saying here, take her.
>>
>>542105369
Well, jewgle is telling me that they worship the same gods.
>>
The story is about how women are at the origin of wars, both in the real and the spiritual world.
> Helen (origin of the Trojan War itself).
> The Judgment of Paris: Paris chose Aphrodite as the most beautiful goddess over Athena and Hera. This insult made Athena (and Hera) bitter enemies of Troy.

They already lost economic dominance. They had nothing to lose.
>The Trojans for not just immediately kicking that woman out and saying here, take her.
Cassandra tried to warn them and they said she's crazy.
>>
>>542105213
>Dorians
>Ionians
They were all Greek retard.
>>
>>542105471
Helen wasn't an actual person, anon. She was a stand-in for Panhellenism, aka the Greek Thallasocratic Empire.
Troy aka Ilion, located in modern day Turkey, was standing in the Greek City-States Alliance's way of complete domination of the Mediterranean Sea trading routes.
>>
>>542105213
Without knowing the details I would guess the white on white aggression was initiated by the jews.

The real red pill is that it is a medieval event in Italy and there was no horse. They got in through a broken aquaduct.

Antique writing has no vowels or syanaed spelling. So Aquaduct and horse-path (equu duct) are written the same. Also the wooden frames that hold up aquaducts AND seige engines are also called horses.

It is easy to see how the misunderstang came about but we do have multiple first hand accounts of the battle of Troia and people should stop projecting known medieval events into vast antiquity.

Syvain Tristan describes the problem well in this interview but you can also read his excellent book which is very detailed.

One thing that's particularly noteworthy about that whole episode is that Aphrodite is not a native of the Greek pantheon, but rather is a Hellenized version of Astarte/Ishtar. Moreover, while the Achaean Greeks worshiped Aphrodite solely as the goddess of love, the Trojans worshipped a different version of her called Aphrodite Areia, who was a war goddess as well as a love goddess, making the Trojan version of Aphrodite's cult much more similar to the original form of her worship as Astarte/Ishtar.

There's a subtext to the story of the Judgment of Paris that the Trojans had culturally diverged from the rest of the Greeks, having become more like the sinister ancient civilizations to the east that Greeks had long feared and hated.
>>
>>542108262
There is no evidence for any of them being Greek. The St Omer family come from Normandy although they did rulr Achea in modern Greece.
>>
>>542108438
When I was a kid I read some speculation in the book Horrible Histories: The Groovy Greeks that the story could have been inspired by an Earthquake destroying a city's walls and the besiegers building a horse shaped monument to thank Poseidon because he was associated with both horses and earthquakes

You know that horse isn't in either the Illiad or the Odyssey but instead came from Virgil's Aeneid, right?
Of course you did because your so very smart.

>She was a stand-in for Panhellenism,
You are overcomplicating it. She is from the Legend of the Woman and her duplicate appears again and again. Also as Julius Caesar's daughter. As Amalasuintha wife to Theoderic the Great. There are plenty others. Fomenko lists them all in his book 2 of hid History Fiction or Science series. They all do the thing in life. They all get killed in typically the same way. The original model will have been a Byzantine 14th or 15th Century princes then spread out through "time" from there.

war was not about helen of troy anon it was about control of the sea routes
helen of troy wasn't even brought back to troy, the greeks dont even know for sure if paris took her to troy or took her to egypt

it was common in that time period for warriors to go from coast to coast and kidnap women either for rape time or for ransom, much like piracy today

If the Acheans are anything they are Norman-French and the story will be a fictionalisation of the Battle of Troia in ~1462, but with a backdrop of the catastrophic events experienced by the St Omer family around the time of the last major catastrophe to strike Earth, the final time slight elipticism in the orbits of Earth and Mars permitted a close approach. Estimated year 1185AD, but there is more than a century of inaccuracy either way in that date. Awsome non-schizo Youtuber Sean Kinsey has been going on about the tie in between the Iliad, Odyssey and catastrophic events for a while and he comes out with some really interesting things.

There are a few tantalising Renaissance paintings of the Passion of Christ that appear to depict these events too. Like this one, with Mars as devil looming in the sky raining debris.

I didn't mention India. I said St Omer/Homer family came from Normandy in France.

As far as I know India had no history prior to British rule. Even words like "Sanskrit" are obviously from "sans script" to mean illiterate oral tradition. Most of their "words" discovered by naive British ethnologist are just recyclings of English words and concepts given flesh by a jamjeet. E.g. William Simpson's otherwise excellenct investigation of Indian and other wheel customs in 1896, The Buddhist Praying-wheel. Dhahama-chakrah just means Damnnation (or Hell) chariot. Again and again mystical Indian concepts turn out to be Victorian-English day to day items, given clothes of great antiquity.

>Except that Homer wrote about the Trojan War 2,200 years before the Battle of Troia
There is literally no reason to think so. It wasn't published until the 16th Century. The St Omer family are a real family who ruled Achea in medieval times. All this stuff about 2200 years is totally groundless and if it was true it is impossible to see how the story could have been presevered so long. Plus it is more thay a bit odd that it would be written in floral Rennaisance Greek and refer to known medieval event over and over again. Big coincidence.

ITT historical illiterates that shitpost about thing they know nothing about

The real historical context: Trojans were a vassal state to the Hittites (you know the guys in iron chariots that fucked the kikes up) Like many small/petty kingdoms in western anatolia they were stuck in the power struggle between the greeks and hittites with the Milawata Letter, The Alaksandu Treaty and The Manapa-Tarhunta Letter confirming this as historical fact. we know that these people had a rebellion against the hittites in the early 12th century bc under a rebel named piyama-radu, we know from these records that the greeks and hittites had a conflict over troy (wilusa) and resolved it at some point. this by dating mostly corroborates there was a trojan conflict or war at some point we believe it happened in myth, the archaeological record also shows repeated destruction of troy once somewhere in the late 12th century bc and once more in the early 11th century bc, which confirms it once again.
this also confirms an earlier myth where heracles went to troy a generation before the trojan war, saved the place from a seamonster, asked for horses as a reward and got shafted, so he went back to greece, brought an army conquered the city killed the king and all his kids safe for one and installed him on the throne we know this dude as priam.

now we know it's real, now for who was right. this is harder to say, troy got fucked and the place we now expect to find the records is coincidentally the parts that Schliemann dynamited when "excavating" the site so we only have a one sided story mostly surviving by word of mouth and transliterated 600 years later. hence we cannot say for certain. we do know troy was essentially deciding who would or wouldn't trade with the black sea area, we also know they felt confident from their treaty/protection by the hittites. we also know that priams dad was a dick who could not keep horkios.

Ah, once more the sun sets of a peaceful Saturday, and as it does the insults start flying again as does the deliberate disruption of any analysis of flawed historical events after a pause on Friday
sundown.

If the 'ancient' Greeks are only a few hundred years old, maybe your history is just as flawed? Maybe it wasn't "Romans" who destroyed your temple, but Spanish Hapsburgs, the Holy Roman Empire, and when they raised the Cross of Jesus in tbe Mosque/Temple of Cordoba maybe you remembered that as the statue of Zeus. The name sounds the same. Then they expelled you all, with those who went North called "Jews" and adopting a subset of Christian scripture and those who went south into Morroco and became "Muslim". A young people, proto-Spanish nomads, who still carry distinctive Spanish/Italian looks about them too.

>Trojans were a vassal state to the Hittites
Aye. Hittites from Hittaly. And where is Troia today? Still in Italy.

Ask yourself which is more likely. That given the prevailing illiteracy of the 15th Century stories get fractured but tb
He basic events are discernable and historians get dates wrong due to no frame of reference and common spelling errors.
OR we really do have historical records from 3100 years ago and their resemblence to medieval events is coincidental.

Athena for abandoning her patrons in Troy like a petty jealous bitch when Paris, the prince of Troy, chose the promise of love (from Aphrodite) over the promise of victory (from Athena herself) all to win some stupid competition.
A competition for a golden apple with the words "to the fairest" on it.
Literally betrayed her loyal Trojan worshippers, and made Helen fall in love with Paris, knowing it would send the Greeks to war with Troy, because she failed to win a trophy for prettiest guest at her friend's wedding.
What a cunt.
