Whats likely to happen is that things will get worse in various ways but we never quite reach a state of *total* collapse because the elites refuse to let that happen and admit they have lost billions of dollars, as long as they continue to circulate money between each other they can fake the economy being alive for the rest of their lives. Its impossible to predict the near future of the US economy because predictions are based on rational actors, and nothing about the current US economy is rational.
