Allow workers to exchange PTO for extra pay then. Just buy their PTO off them.

The owner of the business is the most invested in its success and is the one who will make millions or even billions if it goes right. The employee is just there to earn a paycheck. The employee isn’t going to make a million dollars just because the company boosted its profit. You can’t expect them to care as much as someone who has millions of dollars riding on the company’s success.

Workers of a company don't think about that. I've never thought about it myself nor have I ever worked with anyone who did. That's for the owner/corporate part of a company to think about, everyone else is just looking forward to clocking out at the end of the day and making plans for their time off.

In the US, overtime work is paid 150% and PTO is usually a flat, incremental accrual based on length with company regardless of hours worked. Some states force paying out PTO if you fire someone, some don't, so PTO usage gets seen as automatic 'bad' even if 'forced'. I got fired from my last job for saying I might need fmla days here and there over a 6 month period to help my dad who got lymphoma. Illegal, but nothing I can do.

Classic CEO psychopath behavior.

I've done case studies on CEOs saying things like this almost word for word. I've sat in on meetings with people like this throwing a full on yelling screaming crying temper tantrum about employees having boundaries. This guy is not torn. When his employees dare to have a life outside of work, he feels personally attacked. The only thing he struggles with is the legal system that doesn't allow him to murder his employees for daring to use their PTO. Its hard to believe people like this exist until you see it irl. Literal demons exist and they all look like this. Its actually scary.

>>
>>542128618
They do.
you can cash out pto at the end of the year or something at alot of companies(becuase they only allot for x t of weeks a year depending on how long you been working there)
The caveat is , that cashed out pto is considered "bonus pay" which is taxed at 50%. So its pretty much always better to use your pto than cash it out.

I know of zero companies that pay out PTO in the US. Most of them have moved on to “unlimited PTO,” which actually means that the second you go over 15 days of time off, you get automatically PIP’d for “low productivity, not a team player”
Anyone who still has PTO has “use it or lose it” PTO where you get to the end of the year and anything unused just lapses because it’s classified as a voluntary benefit and not part of your pay package.
>>
>>542135149
Undoubtedly, and during internal shareholder calls they go into KPI versus man-hours shit that is directly affected by this. Vested ESOPs should only be a mitigation method for employees to avoid getting fucked by their employer going public, not a pay package component

You would care though if the business shut down while you were working for it.
pretty much a black mark on your resume if your most recent job got blown the fuck out. Its why employers never tell their employees and just leave it to them to figure out when they cant get into the building and the lights are off.

It's not about the company or productivity
It's just control
They don't care about the company it's just the control they are missing
They want you to be able to tell you what to do for most things and you going on holiday is just a clear indicator that they don't have control over you

It seems like start-up owners are just getting cheaper and cheaper. They really expect someone with no skin in the game to do an all out effort. It makes no god damn sense. I feel like when my parents talked about start-ups in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s, it was always about hoping you go public and cash out your shares or just selling them. >I need the money and I know what will happen but I don't say anything
>Boss gives full time to all part timers
>Greedy bastard is counting the money in his head
>Wage laws mandate pay must be given regardless of outcomes so I start counting the money in my head
>8 hours comes and goes and I've already hit on a few female coworkers, slept in the lounge, and talked with bros all day long
>Tell boss ain't nobody showing up in his weather
>Clock out and thank him for the extra money
>Come back next day and boss says he will never do that again because the company lost loads of money that day in labor and power costs
>>
>>542128452
Seasonal work is natural. All year workload is unnatural. it's just that simple
>>
>>542137737
I used to work in a lab and our shithead boss would never do weather cancellations, so half of the employees would burn a day of PTO, the boss mysteriously would also never show, and me and this old dude would show up and kill half a bottle of whiskey together while watching war movies or the sopranos for eight hours
Sometimes I miss it, but time moves in one direction and he’s dead now

Because communists are retards and their whole system of thought is contaminated with a very poor misunderstanding of Keynesianism
Keynesianism is the idea that aggregate demand and its counterpart aggregate work are the main drivers of growth. Communists believe in communal (state) ownership of the means of production. This leads to retarded shit like communists forcing people to grow seven billion pounds of cabbage because surely this creates wealth.
Obsession with the GDP and “productivity” is entirely a Keynesian thought process, which is hilarious because miggers now are lauding a Keynesian talking point as one of Trump’s only remaining accomplishments.
CEO fags are obsessed with “productivity” because they are not capitalists but keynesians. Which inevitably happens when your sole business model is growth to pay dividends until you can exit scam, instead of making an actual product.
>>
>>542132418
You enjoy making another man rich at the expense of your free time? The only way you could think like this is if you had some ownership in the business.
