Anyone ever notice that the inside of these Russian metros are obviously neo-classical or older interiors of ceiling areas of large buildings ?inb4>NIET !they where built in the 50s when country was starving by great Stalin !>They didnt use the soviet brutalism they use for all other buildings at the time because...eh..>Stalin thought building replicas of Tzarist baroque architecture would be good...but only for metroAlso, logistically...how did they build this in the 50s ? They look like the insides of large neoclassical buildings (ceiling level)...meaning the buildings sunk underground somehow
>>542132140>They were built in the 50's1920's and 30's actually.>only for metroThere is an entire architectural style called "Stalinist" that is well regarded today. The buildings are very nice and if you look at pictures or videos of any Russian city you'll see them. The Metro was a public transportation service explicitly designed to make the common worker feel elevated and respected. Their transport should not be some crusty, muddy wagon but instead a grand underground train and fancy buildings. This is all really obvious stuff if you even had wikipedia-tier understanding of the world and history.
>>542132140>meaning the buildings sunk underground somehowyes clearly that is the only solution. It may come as a surprise to you but when a russian consumes enough vodka they can in fact swim through land and by dosing their tools/materials/building equipment in vodka they were able build this
>>542132140>mudfloodImagine having such a deformed soul that you see beauty and know, deep down, that your kind is incapable of creating anything like it, so you imagine a race of divine beings made everything beautiful in the world. Hint: they did, but it was white people.

>>542132268idk man, something just seems fishy about the whole thing. Russia hadnt industrialized in the 20s. How far down are these places again ?
>>542133044>Russia hadn't industrializedRussia built a railroad across the entire continent decades prior. Digging a whole in the ground and running a railroad on it isn't that difficult. The first underground metros were built decades before that in Europe. They're also not that deep in Moscow. In St Petersburg they are quite deep but that has mostly to do with the geology (the city is basically a bunch of islands). The old technique for building these was called cut-and-cover and it is still the better way to do it but is very disruptive to the surface and businesses don't like it. If you dig a big hole and then put a roof on it and build the street back on top of it you can go as deep as your army of men with shovels and horses with wagons will go.

FSB always swarm these threads >NIET NIET...totally normal baroque architecture very popular with comrade Stalin and Kruschev >Ehhh...why you think they live in Tsarist mansions ? >Only not for any buildings built on surface...was bourgeoisie above ground...but for underground, proletarian must have premium baroque architecture !your not fooling anyone, boris
>>542133896qrd?
>>542133970>qrd?mud-flood is a theory i play around with, haven't really given much research to it..but its interesting allot of buildings around the world look like they sunk, judging by the windows and other exterior features, and multiple underground floors ect.
>>542134322neatthere are several places in canada where theres access to old and depreciated tunnels that lead to lived in subterranean areasif glowniggers attack your theory theres probably truth to it. im thinking its because its too close to what some of them were actually used for instead of as a result of flooding ie. vancouver bc's huge child trafficking underground network
I hate the Kremlin people, but russians and russian architecture is really something. A lot of what russians have made over the years are truly magnificent.

>>542132140Russians are retarded and not artistic at all. Anyone that believes Russians built that when they were considered hut level people back then is retarded
>>542133044>Russia hadnt industrialized in the 20s.Except that they did? Russia's industrialization process was not as successful as in other parts of Europe, yet efforts to boost various industries had already begun under the tsarist regimes. Railways, as well as the textile, oil, and metallurgical industries, were already established in places like St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Baku long before the Bolsheviks seized power. Russia's real problem was that this industrialization occurred in "islands", meaning there were a few Russian cities with major industrial hubs, while the periphery remained essentially agrarian and disconnected from that industrialization. the fact that the industrialization process was uneven does not alter the fact that, by the early 20th century, Russia was one of the world's major industrial powers in terms of production.
