In the last 24 hours, Houthi forces have made significant gains west of Taiz city. They have disrupted or cut the main road linking Taiz to the Red Sea port of Al-Mokha (Mokha) and are only a few km from the Al-Bireen junction that connects Taiz southward toward Aden. This raises the risk of placing Taiz under renewed siege within days and putting Al-Mokha under direct threat next. Houthis also launched missile and drone strikes on both Al-Mokha and Taiz roughly an hour before the report.

The push aims to isolate government-held Taiz from its western supply routes and the coast, weaken National Resistance (Tariq Saleh) forces controlling Mokha, and increase pressure on approaches to the Bab al-Mandab Strait. Controlling or threatening these routes would give Houthis greater leverage over Red Sea shipping and Saudi-backed positions amid the broader escalation.

Saudi-backed forces are pumped with billions dollars and modern weaponry like Abrams etc but they cant stop Houthis using drones, missiles and smart tactics.Houthis excel in asymmetric modern warfare. They blend cheap Iranian-supplied drones, ballistic missiles, anti-ship weapons, and loitering munitions with guerrilla tactics, mountain terrain mastery, and high motivation. This lets them strike Saudi-backed forces logistics, bases, air defenses, and soft targets far beyond the front lines bypassing heavy armor like Abrams tanks that struggle in Yemens rugged, supply-starved environment. They also perform repeated Red Sea shipping disruptions, Aramco attacks, and precise hits on bases despite coalition air superiority and advanced kit. Mobility, mass cheap precision weapons, and denial strategies outmatch expensive conventional gear that Saudis were buying from USrael for decades.

Houthi footage shows a ballistic missile precisely hitting a cluster of vehicles at what appears to be a field meeting of Saudi-backed forces in open desert. A drone was overhead filming the strike, meaning they had real-time intelligence.

You never see any in-depth media coverage on the houthis like you do with other groups in that region. They must really mean business.
The Saudis are probably deeply regretting their offensive against them several years ago because it backfired so badly that the houthis came out of it with 5x the number of followers lol Bombing schools and causing massive famine and disease outbreak really radicalized a lot of Yemenis against Saudi Arabia.

Your assault rifle is of limited utility when everyone else is carrying as well. A suicide belt explosion is instantaneous and a single bomber has taken out scores or even hundreds in the past. But yeah, you could still shoot a bunch of people.

The system used on the vid was probably Badr. Badr-1P / Badr-F (guided, claimed 2 m CEP), plus Badr-2P, Badr-3, and Nakal (enhanced Badr-F derivative) are short range rocket artillery systems of Houthis. 160 km range, can also use airburst warhead (detonates 20 m altitude, scatters 14,000 fragments over 250 m area). Uses Iranian-assisted guidance, jam-resistant BeiDou/INS, and more local production of components for better battlefield precision against troops and soft targets.

Modern Houthi ballistic missiles (Burkan-2/3 liquid-fuel MRBMs based on Iranian Qiam, Fateh-class solid-fuel SRBMs/ASBMs like Asef, and longer-range variants) are Iranian-designed, often assembled or modified in Yemen with key components (guidance, engines, seekers) supplied by Iran. Iranian solutions enable local production and upgrades. Precision has improved via inertial navigation plus satellite guidance. Reports link Iranian systems (shared with proxies) to Chinas BeiDou for better accuracy and anti-jamming resistance over civilian GPS.
>>
>>542143658
depending on the range, i wouldn't have thought they could hit with accuracy like that with purely inertial guidance. or if they did, it must be a very modern one. it looks like the accuracy you get from an air launched missile from a drone with optical guidance. very impressive.

Saudi Arabias coalition launched a major air campaign against the Houthis starting in 2015, lasting nearly a decade. It relied heavily on US munitions and support, contributing to depletion of certain American precision-guided stockpiles. The war caused hundreds of thousands of deaths overall (combat, famine, disease), with tens of thousands of civilian casualties from airstrikes. Instead of collapsing, the Houthis adapted, expanded Iranian-backed capabilities, and consolidated control over northern Yemen which is a home to most of the countrys population (80% of 35 millio pop). They maintain significant local recruitment and support in their core areas.

In May 2025, after a costly US bombing campaign (Operation Rough Rider) against Houthis that lost multiple jets, drones, and munitions without fully degrading them, Trump announced a Omani-brokered ceasefire. He claimed Houthis "capitulated" and waved a white flag by halting attacks on US ships kek. Critics saw it as US retreat tho: strikes proved inconclusive, Houthis kept targeting non-US-linked shipping, and later claimed America "backed down." The limited truce left Red Sea threats intact.

Mutts lost at least three F/A-18 Super Hornets vs a bare-foot guys having no air force and AD whatsoever (except of Irans supplied Product 358 that constantly shoots down Saudi-owned MALE drones etc).

First one supposedly to friendly fire. Second one in April 2025 due to "evasion pressure" - one fell overboard from the hangar while being towed during a hard evasive turn to avoid an incoming Houthi missile. Third one supposedly went overboard during landing due to an arresting-wire failure. xD

Polandoanon, why aren't you covering what's going on in Somaliland and what Egypt's been up to? They're gonna be taking over the Gulf of Aden and control over the Red Sea mate. The strait's gonna be theirs and no banditry will interrupt it.
>>
>>542153536
Exaggerated/false. Egypt deepens military/maritime ties with Somalias federal government (not Somaliland), opposes Somaliland independence, and coordinates with Eritrea/Djibouti on Red Sea security as littoral states. No Egyptian takeover of Somaliland, Gulf of Aden or Bab el-Mandeb Strait either Israel recognized Somaliland, UAE holds Berbera port influence. Multiple powers (Saudi, Turkey, others) compete now. Houthi threats and residual piracy persist and grow. Egypt seeks influence vs Ethiopia, not exclusive control.

>First one supposedly to friendly fire.

BTW, i can explain in detail as a person with vast knowledge on US military why this is pretty much impossible nowadays. US Navy Aegis systems (AN/SPY-1/6 radars) and F/A-18s use IFF Mode 5: encrypted, frequency-hopping challenge-response that only friendly platforms answer correctly. Non-responders are flagged hostile. Link-16 tactical data links continuously share real-time tracks and IFF status across the strike group. Automated engagement authorization requires positive friendly ID SM-2 missiles cannot launch on correlated cooperative targets. Multi-sensor fusion (radar, ESM, optical) cross-checks identity. These layered, cryptographically secure tech solutions render misidentification and friendly shoot-down of an F/A-18 technically impossible under normal operating parameters. Yet according to official FENTCOM version, USS Gettysburg (Navy Aegis cruiser) fired SM-2 missiles that downed an F/A-18F from USS Truman that day xD
