I'm a 20 year old autistic khhv NEET so I'm pretty much the target demographic for cutesy anime, but it's insane what it does to your brain. How is the real world ever supposed to compare to the world of anime? If you're a social outcast who struggled fitting in, anime represents an impossibly perfect escape from the reality. This is a perfect world of adorable girls doing cute things. The real world is dull, grey, sad, and boring. Why deal with the struggles of life when you can just escape into this perfect, idealized world? Just give yourself up to the warm embrace of the anime world, and forget about all your pain and struggles. Anime is basically crack for lonely men, and I've become hopelessly addicted. Once you dive in, there's no going back.
