I have a cousin that lives in California, who used to work in one of the major corps doing computer stuff. He's a tranny and got laid off, but since his parents here in Brazil are super conservatives, my cousin did that faggot move where you fight your whole family because nobody understands you. Now he got laid off a few months back and keeps asking for money from his parents, as if he didn't destroy the family and the family's reputation (we're from a relatively small town).
He's seething now according to his brother who's a Chad, as things aren't getting any better for computer fags kek

Is he wasn't an insufferable fagot I'd feel bad, but he even cut contact with me, and we were super close and kids, and he was normal, just a bit nerdy. Became gay after going to university in the US, got a boyfriend and a year later he decided that his name didn't represent him and changed it to a girl's name
His poor parents (they're rich, just a figure of speech) are so sad but accepted it as not to completely lose contact with him.
Anyway, hang Israelites, they owe me a cousin

FAANG was a mistake.
They overpaid their staff which made their jobs precarious. And they're capable of running AI at a massive scale, so that hurts their employees even more.
The secret has always been to become a technological jack of all trades in medium sized or non-tech companies.
Claim a large swathe of territory in a useful project within a bit company, and camp until retirement.
Good luck using AI to write software across 20 custom systems utilizing undocumented APIs and legacy data formats.
You'd need someone who knows all those details to steer the AI... So the prompting job would just go right back to me.

Maintaining a security clearance is a pain, and comes at a premium.
Tell the government to stop requiring security clearance and maybe the price will go down.
I just get the DoD to sign off on a $30k buff to my salary every 5 years and I'm golden.
The military industrial complex is like an infinite money glitch for companies, and employees just scrape the excess cash into their own pockets. It's a bonanza out here.

Depends on what his role was. Apple laid off hundreds who were in their Vision department as that shut down.
There's always sympathy for tech workers, I can't comprehend how so many feel bad. These layoffs are mainly for employees who are top 10% earners and work at shitty, greedy companies.
90% of the workers don't mind their work helped with manipulation of kids on social media, support mass surveillance, or even help with wars as long as they were paid minimum six figures.

You will never be a real programmer. You have no commits, you have no pull requests, you have no public repos. You are a low IQ brown man twisted by an unearned comp sci degree and coding bootcamps into a crude mockery of nature's autism.

All the “validation” you get is two-faced and from bots. Behind your back people call you a useless DEI hire. Your parents are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “tech bros” laugh at you behind closed doors.

Real programmers are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of forum posts have allowed programmers to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even devs who “pass” have no creative output and excessively verbose with AI generated tech buzzwords. Your GitHub profile is a dead giveaway, and even if you manage to score a 3 month internship at some scam startup, they'll lay you off the second they find out that you haven't completed any non school related projects.

You will never be happy. You cope by saying that your bullshit software is using a "proprietary test framework" so you can't open source it, but deep down you know it's because you don't want people to see your incompetence where all you did was push README updates over and over, and that the core codebase was stolen off an open source GPL licensed project which you're shamelessly profiting off.

Eventually it will be too much to bear. You'll buy a spoofed business phone number and start cold calling old people into redeeming your gift card scam.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

What the fuck did you just say about me, you little script kiddie? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in Computer Science, and I’ve optimized numerous systems while you were stuck trying to fix a syntax error, and I have over 300 successfully deployed apps. I am trained in full-stack development and I'm the top coder in the entire dev ops community. You are nothing to me but just another bug. I will wipe your program off the network with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can just throw that spaghetti code on GitHub and get away with it? Think again, noob. As we speak, I’m running a trace on your IP, patching into your system logs, and your entire codebase is being analyzed in real-time, so you better prepare for the reboot of your miserable setup, you little subroutine.

The network storm that's coming for you will make sure your framework crashes in the blink of an eye. You're 404, kid. I can terminate your processes remotely, anytime, and I know over seven hundred ways to break your code, and that's just with basic commands. Not only am I extensively trained in reverse engineering, but I have access to the entire repository of advanced algorithms and system-level scripts. I will execute them with flawless precision, leaving your pathetic infrastructure a smoldering heap of corrupted data. If only you knew what unholy exception your “clever” commit was about to cause, maybe you would've deleted your repo. But you didn't, and now you’re paying the price, you digital dodo. I will flood your logs with errors so catastrophic, your system will crash in despair. You’re dead in the codebase, kiddo.

It sucks to go to university and suffer through all these Gen Ed classes, rigorous programming courses, internships, leetcode, etc just for the entire industry to basically be on a hiring freeze.

RTO is bullshit where people commute into the office to just end up being on MS Teams and Zoom meetings with other sites (which often are in other States, India, the Philippines, etc). I'm not spending money anywhere within a 10 mile radius of the office and if possible spend my money in other cities and States. I'm purposely boycotting local businesses out of spite.

It just feels like university was fucking pointless and that I wasted almost half a decade of my life in university. I've had a terrible fucking time in uni. Being a broke ass college student sucks. Also, I live in a place I fucking despised the entire time going to college.

If I could go back I'd just would've dropped out at 16, got my GED, and been a Union tradesmen. There's nothing wrong with honest work for a decent pay. They go to work early, avoid traffic, get off early. Union tradesmen have time to actually spend with the families, have a proper work-life balance, and are cool people. They have project cars and real hobbies.

Why did I go through all this bullshit and be around insufferable no-life programmers if I could've made roughly the same amount of money in a union trade job (the difference is like 20k max) and pivoting to owning a blue collar business someday?
>>
>>542164567
>>542164719
Also, I did try out blue collar work and thought it was actually not too bad, but the city I'm in just doesn't have good paying manufacturing jobs and my goal was to move to a more expensive area, because my hometown sucks.

I was encouraged to go to university by my parents and I stupidly listened. It made sense at the time seeing the salary and WFH lifestyle. Now I'm fucked.

You'd be totally hooked on painkillers if you did that shit and you'd be paid about the same as a McDonalds worker for the same amount of time as it'd take for you to go through college until you start seeing decent paychecks around year 8-10. Thing is, not only is your hometown shit but the entire country is as well. All of the mid level grey collar jobs and high paying physically based cerebral jobs are located in other countries for the most part.

You'll continue to suffer if you don't make like a spic and move elsewhere to a country that can give you a better life and a meaningful job. It sounds like a drastic move, but it makes total sense especially if the people you vote for and work for are always looking for ways to maximize profits at your expense. America's workforce is completely binary now. You're either doing backbreaking hard labor/monotonous low wage jobs or you're a nepobaby fintech faggot with a rich dad working at a place with all of your college pals.

That's total bullshit actually if it's in a major urban area and you work as a Master Electrician in a Union and eventually own a company. They can make 130k-150k base with company paid benefits. You probably live in a rural area or right to work state. Then they can work overtime and or bartend for even more money. If I dropped out of school at 16 and got my GED then worked my way up the Union ladder I would've been actually earning money the entire time and been able to invest it. Living with minimal roommates and investing in NVIDIA like I wanted to 5-7 years ago (but my money went to school).

Tech companies require employees to commute during rush hour for RTO, work unpaid overtime (esp at certain companies or during crunch hours), and they get off work at 5-6pm. Which after traffic, means that if tech employees go straight home it would be 7:30 potentially until they even get home. Assuming they have to run errands, won't be until like 8:30pm. Most non corporate businesses are closed by then because late-night America is dead outside of a handful of bars. Corporate chains close at like 10pm at the latest, but often earlier.

Tech employees lose more of their actually valuable time because the hours and commute when combined suck when compared to an Early Start Union Electrician gig. I'd rather be off at 1-3pm with minimal traffic.

My company just replaced the CTO who started the company with a jeet. They also just replaced the CFO who was there from the start with a Wallstreet guy. Yep. I've been through it all before. But there are a ton of people who have literally only ever worked at this company. They don't understand how it works. Or, worse, they see themselves as too valuable to lose. The company only went public less than a year ago. So they don't understand that the calculus has fundamentally changed. Worst part? New CTO is not just a jeet, but a jeet from InfoSys lol. A jeet staffing company that's been repeatedly sued for race discrimination and lost. Part of me wants to stick it out and maybe get a sweet payday. But I'm just kind of over it and want to get out while the getting is good.
