Dominoes are about to fall. Oil explodes. Japan has to start selling off treasuries to keep afloat. This causes US debt to death spiral also. Trump responds in typical fashion by doing something insane that totally nukes the dollar through a technical default.

>What happened
kikes happened, every able-bodied American is about to be swamped with debt (that will conveniently be used to coerce them into signing up for a ground invasion of Iran, and paid off by the government to the kikes that did the lending and set up this whole situation)

Do you know cycle theory or basic TA, Cycles and TA determine prize-action, news and events are just narratives put on the prize-action.

We have not deleted the local high on 118 in the chart so.. We are still in a macro-beartrend

The purpose of bonds is that while they have a lower rate of return, they also basically cannot fail. The stock market is supposed to be risky: higher returns but also frequent collapses. You can lose everything on stocks, you can't lose everyone on bonds unless the entire country implodes on the federal level.

The problem is that the stock market is no longer "risky", its been artificially protected against recessions or failures by subsidies, bailouts, and other forms of market manipulation to protect the boomers. Same goes for the housing market: we all know there should have been a real estate crash over a decade ago, but it was prevented so prices only ever go up and never come down. This is not how the market is supposed to work.

The problem is that putting short term profits ahead of the long term cost is how you avoid a little crash now but force it to be a much worse crash later. Think of it like being up off the ground: a 10 ft drop is basically safe, a 30ft drop is dangerous and could kill or seriously injur you you, a 100 ft drop or more and you shouldn't expect to survive. We should have had 10 little 10 ft drops which would have been occasionally uncomfortable but most people wouldn't have walked away from without worse than a sore ankle, but we let the market climb and signed ourselves up for a 100 ft drop because we didn't want to seal with any drop at all.

The boomers are now in a panic because they always knew it would end like this, the only part of this thats unfair to them is that they thought the consequences of their actions wouldn't happen for another 10 years or so and by then they would be dead and this would exclusively be our problem. That was supposed to be the deal.

>>542175406
the problem is, they can't fail, but they can be underwater because of the whole rates + coupon, etc bullshit. so you lose money because no one has time to autistically manage them and uses ETFs for all the things.
>>
>>542173907
Boomers love them because their fear of taxes is stronger than their fear of being called racist.

Bonds was what your employer would get so you could have a pension payout 30 years later even if the company went under.
The return didn't enter in the equation.

Bonds can fail, they're failing right now.
It makes no sense to get a 5% bond per year if the yearly inflation is 30% (the real one, not the 3% government published one).
You're literally bleeding a lot of real purchasing power, but only a slightly bit less than keeping cash.
