Absolute worst case Rainier eruption scenarios would, at most, bury parts of Tacoma and its suburbs. Even Seattle, which is close by, would be unharmed save for ash (still problematic, but not anywhere close to this image).

The parts of Tacoma that would get buried aren’t just suburbs either, the port would be completely destroyed and large areas of downtown are built on lahar deposits. It would easily be the worst disaster in US history by far.
I immediately pack my family into the truck and everything I can get into the enclosed trailer and I move to the pacific northwest.

Well I'm Indian, and I'm highly afraid of volcanoes. Watching the 2 movies Dante's Peak and Volcano when 10 yr old boy gave me severe trauma and anxiety.
