An easily missed feature of every Pepe is the pair of identifying lines below the left eye. It is highly improbable that these strips are mere compression artifacts as they have been stamped on every instance of the most common Pepe in the exact same manner, and there is seemingly no reason for a compression algorithm to do this; besides, the strips exist even on image formats that don't use compression. The strips are likely a steganographic
technique to embed hidden data within every Pepe. It is unknown what data is embedded in the Pepes, but it is likely a means to track the spread and evolution of the wider Pepe meme

I just get my pepes from Google images every time
>>
>>542182222
some fag adds them in, I removed them multiple times in 2015 and circulated cleaned lower filesize PNGs, but dipshits keep posting the larger filesize ones with lines.

I long since stopped caring.

The weird thing is that the pepes that these lines always appear in news outlets but almost no one else uses them

i just took the exact CIA pepe with the lines and ran it through AI to remake the same image but higher quality. the results look good to me. i think i might do this to some other images.

however ALL images generated by AI are digitally watermarked. they admit this. so they know exactly which AI model generated the image. invisible watermark

/mlp/ was created as a containment board for all the mlp stuff being posted after the show came out, it was being posted everywhere. At some point barneyfag would spam threads whenever someone posted a picture with a pony. Who knows if the bot is operated by the original barneyfag, but that is the backstory. Those pepe images have a shrunken image taken from derpibooru in them.

Clown pepe had watermarks in the form of the color of the nose and the pattern on the bowtie. They were all identical. The shills would get angry and defensive if you pointed it out, too.

That's the glowie pepe
At some point shill central approved a pepe for glowie and shill usage and they can only use that pepe and variations that have those lines.
Whenever you see one of those know that the poster is either a glowie or an absolute retard who doesn't even know the most basic meme lore

Use ImageMagick to add some random bits to change the md5. I have a simple script keybinded to refresh my meme directory that changes md5 and filenames for obscurity.

>>542182222
No, it's more like electrical grounding. The presence of the broken lines stops the pepe from functioning as a sigil and causes any energy invested into it to harmlessly dissipate. They've been distributing dud pepes - its the main reason Trump lost the 2020 presidential election.

>technique to embed hidden data within every Pepe
It's definitely tracking lines but probably by some nobody who thought it'd be cool to see where the pepe image he posted a few times would spread to (Like putting a tracker in a bottle and letting it float out to sea)
The guy never realized that it'd eventually become the most popular variation of it ironically. It's used so many times that tracking it is worthless at this point, because it is the main pepe.

there was that whole pepe era where pepe and wojak were enemies or frenemies or something
