South Park was one of the shows in the 90's that broke ground by having an episode that explicitly moralized to the audience about how everyone should tolerate gays and treat them as equals. Now they've spent literally every episode of the last two seasons making fun of him for being faggot. I mention this because you can learn so much about right and wrong and how behaviors scale along that polarity by evaluating your emotions. Is there something wrong about being gay? Maybe, and it depends. If so, why is my conscience afflicted by a sense of guilt for teasing him? Now, generally speaking, if Im fully convicted about a given issue and say something insulting to someone associated with whatever it is I'm convicted about, I don't feel a sense of guilt. Like if I were insulting someone for drinking too much, being lazy, being a junkie, stealing, cheating, lying, etc ...I feel zero qualms about that sort of thing. I'm more than happy to let someone know theyre a piece of shit in some specific regard. But when it comes to this queer guy, I feel badly for what I said. And it honestly wasn't even that bad. And I don't even really know him. Based on all this, I would say gay stuff is shameful in a certain respect (objectively so). But not so extreme as to warrant insults or censure.
