Election results operate on razor thin margins, often coming down to just a couple thousands votes per district. 15% boost is the difference between winning an election and losing one. As a result MAGA can effectively hold the entire rest of the republican party hostage, because the traditional Republican voter will historically vote Red no matter what, but MAGA can threaten to walk at any time and so the GOP has to always be sucking their dick to keep them around. All of this performative bullshit keeps MAGA happy, but regular republicans pretty much just ignore it. Either they are old boomers who don't read the news, they just remember that they fill in the bubble with the (R) next to it and take confidence that they did the right thing, or they are regular voters who feel trapped within voting Red by some specific policy they like that the republicans do better than the dems do. Or, just as often, out of fear of something that the democrats would do if they hold power. Because you don't actually have to like your party in a two party system, you just have to think the other guy would be worse.

Class war stuff might actually do some good for the country, unions accomplished a lot of good for american workers in the past, and strong unions are also a bulwark against immigration replacing domestic workers. While untested due to it being a recent development, I would similarly expect unions to help defend against AI replacing people's jobs as well.
