I've noticed that leftists love inventing false definitions of things.1) They'll see [X].2) They'll make up their own definition of [X].3) They'll either debunk [X] because their misrepresentation of [X] is absurd, or they'll claim that [X] is similar to some other bad thing and that we have to stop [X].One example of this phenomenon is how they'll invent their own definition of fascism, despite the fact that the creators of fascism, such as Mussolini and Gentile, gave very specific definitions of it. They'll then show how some other movement is "fascist" according to their definition, despite it not fitting the original definition, and use this to vindicate the movement or idea that they hate.

The word is stipulative definition and it's intentional. Esse tually allows for the setting up a semantic bailey for what amount to classic motte and bailey tactics, weaponizing language and if possible also ultimately forcing sematic drift of meaning towards their ends.
