This has nothing to do with a "killing instinct", but with low control over impulses coupled with a face saving culture based on violence rather than social harmony. A person from a civilized country has the luxury of (1) being able to control their emotions; and (2) assess the consequences of their actions; which is why they will usually choose orderly behaviour instead of recklessness. A migrant from uncivilized lands usually has none of that - their lack of intelligence predisposes them to act based on instincts, rather than rational judgement, which compels them to follow their primal impulses and urges, without thinking much of what it could lead to. Thus, you will see stabbings occur in plain daylight, people engaging in shootouts with the police and so on. Their mind does not read the situation from a civilized angle, to them it is a part of a natural wild struggle - if you are getting arrested, you flee or shoot back; if you need money, you rob a store; if you are angry at someone, you stab them and so on. Another dimension to that is face-saving culture, but one based primarily on violence. In their tradition showing weakness is a social suicide, since nobody respects you if you are weak. To them going to jail over shooting someone is actually preferable to swallowing an insult. In their eyes they have actually improved their social standing even if they will have to serve time for that, and their countrymen do respect that. It is, therefore, not a question of bravery, but that of civilizations clashing and failing to find an understanding because they lack common foundational principles. To be like them you have to become them, which you would rather not.

You will have to adopt their full mindset to act like them, because it is not just about action, but about world perception. However, this does not mean whites should remain defenseless. In civilized societies violence still exists, it is just being delegated to the state that should enforce the rules to keep lowbrow elements in check. In China, for example, a random Chinese will not beat up an uppity foreigner, but the latter will never get the bright idea of acting up because they know the state will quickly show them their place.
