I'm an Arab nationalist in exile in the UK who usually aligns with "leftists" primarily for the sake of the Palestine cause. But now i noticed that many of them are posting her and saying that it's essentially a far right position if you believe she is evil and sick. I was not expecting to be in this predicament because i thought Clancy was primarily of interest to America and Americans but it's become a wedge issue in the UK now as well among social activist groups. I also occasionally see these same women posting things like "Just a reminder a woman can get an abortion whenever she wants whenever she needs and doesn't need male permission", and this makes me uneasy as well. I cannot agree with the leftists on these issues but equally i don't want to cut them off because of their activism on Gaza being important for my work. What do i do?

>>542271057The issue is that the people who hate Clancy also hate us (Muslims/Arabs/MENAs) and many of them (not all) are extremely pro-Israel or rather accept the legitimacy of Israel because they hate Arabs and Muslims.On the other hand, the left wingers who come to the Palestine marches and raise their voices for the plight of the Palestinians hold an extreme position, that Clancy is some martyr for women's causes. They assume anyone who thinks Clancy is sick and evil for what she did must be himself be far right! So the Clancy issue even in the UK is like some polarizing topic right now at least until it dies down and moves out of the media cycle.
