She’s already “cured.” She never experienced a psychotic episode before the event, and, now, three years later, she has not experience a psychotic episode since. If she ever actually did experience psychosis, she is clearly not psychotic anymore. She was also 8 months post partum when the incident happened, which is already strange. She’s now 3 years post-partum. There’s no way she’s still experiencing PP psychosis. She’s gone three years without hurting herself, hurting others, or experiencing the “evil voices” that she only ever heard on one day in her entire life.Assuming she did successfully get the insanity verdict, wouldn’t she almost certainly be released in under a year? She’s pretty much “sane” already.

Practically no one is held in a mental ward for the rest of their lives unless they beg for that to be the case. She'll be let out in 2-3 years tops (probably sooner)

anyone that kills their own children in cold blood is by default insanewether or not she's insane isn't even a question, that's a given the question is wether being insane should shield you from having to endure the same consequences for your actions as if you were sane so it becomes a question of what kind of insane she was, wether she was genuinely so low IQ and mentally disabled that she didn't realize what she was doing, wether she was so mentally ill that she thought what she was doing wasn't that big of a deal or even a good thing (thats why many people that kill their own children end up saying they killed them so they didn't have to keep suffering existence for example) or wether she knew it was a bad thing and did it anyways because she truly did not give a shit or she did it specifically because she knew it was a bad thing and she wanted to hurt someone/get revenge (like on her husband for example) in the end, it doesn't actually matter because no matter which option it is, the answer to how to deal with her will always be to keep her from ever being part of society ever again in any way but that's not going to happen because we live in a time where the goal of the law is to rehabilitate and reintegrate criminals back into society no matter what they did (also because it costs less to get some psychiatrists to say they are healed now because they have sworn to never do that again than to have to keep them fee and clothed in prison for the rest of their life), so basically we are shit out of luck and no justice will be served except if she gets the death penalty and we all know that's never going to happen in other news, let's just move on and try to deal with the fact that there's no justice to be had here she'll get what she deserves once she's dead
