The constant anxiety and the extreme emotional rollercoaster, is this what women feel 24/7? I just can’t take this derealization and sense of impending doom 24/7. My doctor is reducing it by 10% every 3 weeks and I feel fine from 8 AM to 8-9PM but after that I feel horrible, thank god I manage to sleep but still even dealing with horrible symptoms for 3-4 hours everyday suck. I just feel like nothing is real and I cannot believe I am a human being with an identity. I don’t want to live anymore. I don’t feel safe
>>

how long has your chemical dependence been?
>>
>>542348916
It’s been 2.5 months

Stay strong fren. Benzos are truly pernicious. Don't start drinking to cope. It will be over in time. I promise you will feel better. I've never done benzo withdrawal, but I do believe it's tough. I've heard some stories.
>>
>>542349438
I only drank 3 times but I decided to stop it completely because the rebound was too hard and drinking is bad. I beg you to pray for me. This is a terrible terrible feeling. I’m sorry Lord why did I do this. I’m
>>
>>542348827
Like this anon >>542349438 said don't start drinking to cope. I do have experience with benzo withdrawal and alcohol withdrawal. They're both terrible drugs and alcohol can fuck your life. If you do need something to cope I recommend kratom (just plain kratom leaf capsules no synthetic shit), just don't do it every day. Kratom isn't nearly as strong as alcohol or benzos and withdrawals are nothing compared to them. Doctors should be prescribing kratom instead for people with high anxiety etc. imo but there's no money in that.

Yeah that shit has got teeth. Get seboxin or the shot they give. I understand from dudes it works as long as you go the three months.

I have a dear friend with a benzo addiction. Unfortunately I had to distance myself from her as her behaviour was too destructive and she refused to address it.
I sincerely wish you the best of luck, mate. You will look back in ten years time and feel proud you got through it.

I just love my parents so much and im ashamed I never showed them much love and appreciation. I was always a good kid (always stayed out of trouble and got good grades) but I never showed emotions because I was selfish and scared of death and scared of getting emotionally attached. They found out 3 weeks ago and I started crying and they all hugged me. But I feel ashamed. Please tell me in 6-8 months I’ll be okay? Please, I can’t do this anymore. How can 2.5 months destroy my life. I’m 21 for crying out loud
>>
>>542348827
it wont take much longer also sleep away as much time as you can and its over faster

There isn't a dedicated board for talking about addiction recovery so he went to the board with the most drug addicts. What's the problem? He even got pretty good advice so far. At the end of the day beating an addiction is about personal willpower so it's up to him

Here. Natural benzo. Don’t take more than 2 at a time because you’ll get weird side effects. You’re welcomeZ
>>
>>542350424
I’m not addicted to it. It’s only 2.5 months plus I can’t fight the physical dependence, that’s up for my Brain to recalibrate it’s chemicals
>>
Also pray.
>>
>>542350529
Thank you, you’ve told me about it and I take it and it helps me relax. But the thing with this withdrawal is whenever I’m relaxed and not stressed I become super depressed and emotional and vice versa
>>
>>542350531
>I'm not addicted
You're experiencing withdrawal symptoms. That means your body at least is addicted.
>>
>>542350453
>542350453
The only thing I can tell you is, go slow. Maybe ask your doc to taper more gently still. Time isn't the issue, a bearable detox is.
>>
>>542348827
tried drinking a couple of shots of whiskey in between... ultimately get off of the pharmaceuticals and stay off of them you were an idiot to believe your doctor and your doctor's a cunt
>>
>>542349633
>I’m sorry Lord
Oh jfc, as a former addict who got sober through AA and ironically figured out I was an atheist because of it, knock it off with the god shit. You are where you are because of the choices you made and your genetic predisposition for addiction - it's not your fault, but it's your responsibility to handle it. God does not exist and will not help you, but others will - seek help from them.

You’re probably just repressing your emotions. Try sitting down and just relaxing the tension out of your body then just allow what ever you’re feeling to work itself out. You’re gonna have to do this almost daily or you’ll get “anxiety”. Anxiety is simply you trying tk hold back your feelings.
>>
>>542350547
I’m praying everyday, it does help a lot. I just feel like such a coward and a loser. I can’t even socialize or look people in the eyes. I look like a cornered animal
>>
Another idea is to switch to a short acting benzo for a while and taper off from there.

Opiate addicts that detox will often taper methadone in small increments every month, then around 20 mg point, switch to buprenorphine, which is a partial agonist, and easier to taper. Same principle here.
>>
>>542350826
I don’t have access to those.
>>542350772
You’re absolutely right, before the Benzos I was the exact same way, I just never felt or realized it but the truth was I was always a very sensitive person and that’s why the 21 years of my life I presented myself as stoic but the truth is I’m a scared individual, scared of everything. When I was on the Benzos (real dosage, not tapering) I had the time of my life, I showed love to all my family and friends, I enjoyed being alive, I was SUPER SOCIAL, I was capable of handling confrontations in a healthy way, I was sleeping 9-10 hours, super productive and I was praying so much more
>>
>>542350626
Im other words you’re probably past withdrawals but you haven’t felt the things you’ve been avoiding by taking benzo. You’re gonna just have to tale a couple hours and feel the emotions you’re repressing. Trust me it works.
>>
>>542350326
I can promise you that you will recover from this if you don't backslide

>>542349633

Nigger just raw dog the withdrawal and have a seizure by cutting it out cold turkey, like I did. I think the process killed the part of my brain that even creates the chemicals for anxiety. I threw up like 10 times, had one seizure, had the shakes for several days, it was awesome. It's like cutting heroin cold turkey, your body just fucking freaks out. I was prescribed 6 mg a day, between extended release and instant.
>>
>>542350776
You're just young and insecure and you're going through benzo withdrawal. It will pass. Don't be so hard on yourself.
>>
>>542351028
I’m definitely not past most of the withdrawals because it’s not normal I have a hard time to think and for the past 3 hours I’ve been in complete derealization mode and whenever I’m about to socialize with someone I have severe brain fog and I feel physically tense and what do you mean tale another more hours?
>>
>>542351170
Yeah but I’ve been like this all my life, I thought as a 21 year old with a promising career I would mature and grow up, I was so convinced once I started taking the Benzos that I grew up and matured and came out of my shell, every single family member told me that I’ve changed and that I’ve become a better and more social person. I wasn’t scared of anything. Now I’m scared for my physical safety and for my egos safety.
>>
>>542351191
Take a couple hours*
So take the fucking valerian root its a benzo that doesn’t have severe withdrawals. Also you need to learn to relax and trust your subconscious mind. Listen to this: https://youtu.be/yWSkFse_4ko
>>
>>542348827
Why don't you clean your room, Jordan?
>>
>>542351166
I raw dogged it the first time and for a week I had shakes and complete depersonalization. After a month the agitation didn’t leave even if I was physically fine that’s why now I’m on a gradual tapper
>>
>>542351191
>whenever I’m about to socialize with someone I have severe brain fog and I feel physically tense
You need to get outside more. Take up fishing or hiking or something to get out more. You won't come into contact with many others but it will help a lot. Isolation and living on the internet is not goof for those issues.
>>
>>542351398
Kek, I never knew what this guy was going through. I didn’t think it was real or understood why you guys made fun of me.
>>
>>542351484
Yes I’m been forcing myself to go out everyday and I walk 20k steps everyday and spend most of my time outdoors, because the anxiety is too intense inside. I don’t feel physically or psychologically safe. I think the years of embarrassment and social isolation has reached its limit.
>>
>>542351398
Made fun of him***
>>
>>542351338
You're only 21 and you're expecting to grow up too fast and putting way too much pressure on yourself. Just take it easy. It will get much better in your late 20s, 30s and 40s. Everyone goes through that when they're young, some just hide it better than others.
>>
OP, look up the Ashton method. you switch from a short acting benzo to a long acting one (diazepam) at an equivalent dose. i’ve been prescribed benzos for 15 years and starting to get concerns about cognitive health. have successfully went down 1mg but it was through a speedrun forced by the hospital without my doctor’s knowledge and it was an extremely bad time. also you are probably being tapered too quickly.

I used to have anxiety until I read Psycho Cybernetics. When you realize that you have a subconscious and you cal learn to trust it, that is that you stop trying ro figure everything out and control everything with your conscious mind, you wont have anxiety anymore. You’ll be able to relax when you know something is working for you below the surface. https://youtu.be/yWSkFse_4ko

Whatever floats your boat. Just know that you look stupid, and you kind of are.
>>
>>542351191
all the symptoms you have are pretty typical feeling outside of yourself, brainfog/feeling like your brain is cotton etc i also had routine brainzaps you get when you withdrawal too abruptly.
If you are a nervous drink water and try to sleep.
>>
>>542351585
Good. Maybe try to take up an activity outdoors too to take your mind off things and stop ruminating. Everyone goes through embarrassing situations and whatnot, as you get older you'll stop caring about all that and you'll feel more comfortable in your own skin as they say.
>>
>>542349846
also do not fucking do kratom. i did it for several years after abusing street opioids for several years. cold turkeyed both and survived but it was not fun. fuck kratom all to hell. also both of those withdrawals were waaaaaay easier than benzos

>50mg meth/day
You only used one-twentieth of a gram of meth per day? How did you even feel it?
>>
>>542351998
kratom withdrawl isn't that bad, I did it for years and cold turkeyed it and my sleep was horrible for a couple of weeks then I was ok. I also cold turkeyed alcohol and coffee at the same time, so I don't even know which one was fucking my sleep up the most. Can't speak to synthetic kratom though, that shit may suck.
>>
>>542351998
Genuinely curious, were you taking synthetic "gas station heroin" shit? How often were you taking it? From what I've read it seems like it's ex opioid users who really abuse the crap out of kratom and end up having bad withdrawals. I only do ~4 grams of plain kratom powder a few times a week. I've had a rough life and know I'd turn back to alcohol or something without it.
>>
>>542352468
>>542352499

i was taking way too many kratom extract shots as an attempt to deal with bone pain during a heavy course load. shit was expensive. when i was doing powder it seemed more sustainable. if i had to choose between kratom and opioids i would choose kratom, and it sounds like you are using responsibly. also, quitting two things at a time is rough. currently on nicotine patches trying to wean down and the last time i forgot to put one on i had like an 8 hour delirium episode but also i’m a schizo so. kratom withdrawal was definitely doable, killed my energy tho i just always hear that alcohol and benzo withdrawal are the ones that can kill you

idiot, benzos belong in a medicine cabinet they're not supposed to be used recreationally. they're brilliant for people experiencing alcohol withdrawal or insomniacs.

I hate to say this, but it's the truth: you just have to let your soul burn away. Make sure you are taking a B complex including B1 (thiamine) and fish oil to ensure your nervous system has the tools it needs to eventually pull out of it.

Part of you needs to feel psychologically or physically safe. Help isn't coming. Don't give up capital-H Hope, but give up lowercase-h hope. This is the reason why: activating new neurological pathways causes physical changes in your brain. You are walking over the grass until there's a faint trail, then over the faint trail until there's an established trail.

The reason you must give up hope is because that dampens your panic/alarm response that keeps firing while this process unfolds. You do not want to bake in this panic/alarm into your neurological structure.

This is why I suggest letting your very soul burn away. Your only goal is animal survival and keeping your nervous system relatively calm while that freshly trodden grass becomes a trail. Simultaneously two opposites must be true: you will forever be this way, and you also won't. Because to not be this way eventually, you must accept that you will always be this way and not care. You must accept it to lower neurological stress.

No interaction with "society", "people", or mere matter is of real consequence, it is now between you and God. It is through going through this that I realized among Faith, Hope, and Love, the greatest of these is actually Hope, as Hope is the smoldering ember within you.

You are now at the literal edge of the universe. Just accept it, hang on, and let "you" burn away. Just keep those B vitamins and fish oil going and live to fight another day. Just let go, keeping that Hope alive. You are going to make it.

It was absolutely brilliant for me. I was absolutely normal and had literally zero anxiety. I was so productive and happy
>>542352163
I watched 80% of it and thank you that was actually great, I don’t feel very anxious now but I’m definitely going through withdrawals because my short term memory is very bad and I’m having some pretty bad brain fog.
>>
>>542353084
Gotcha, thanks... that's what I figured. Yeah I'll never touch anything besides plain powder and I don't take it every day.

Addiction is one of the hardest battles you can face, but once you know how to control your anxiety you get insane mental strength.
This addiction can actually end you but if you beat it you’ll have a mental giga steroid. You have to win.
>>
>>542354025
which one did you use? i use valium fairly often but never went above 30mg in a day and always tapered off -10mg each day then 5mg the last day and then wouldn't use for a while (when the alcohol withdrawal wore off). to be experiencing physical withdrawal symptoms you must've used rather large doses each day?
