The biggest advantage of cloud infrastructure is availability and reliability and the ability to treat infrastructure like cows, not pets. The way you get that is by having someone who understands the cloud. The reason the cloud doesn't take off for for some people is because they treat it like a hypervisor. The cloud doesn't just allow quicker deployments. It quite literally the backbone to the modern global economy. It moves too fast for old ways.

Cloud also isn't all that reliable. Yes itsikely more reliable than most shitty UT shops, but that isn't a high bar. It's also hard to determine true uptime, go ahead and try and understand Azures SLA. They call major outages "degradations" instead. Nobody cares though because it's someone else's fault and everyone else is down too. Don't tell me what I know about cloud dude I been working on it since the beginning. It's a tool, appropriate in some cases not in others. None of this changes my point either that the real problem it solved goraege enterprise was procurement speed.

It's just a giant scam, and they even have deadman switches built in to completely lock a program if you don't pay them for a fresh renewal every month/year.
