This appears largely to conflate Hani Hanjour’s poor performance during some refresher training with the records of all four pilots. Mohamed Atta and Marwan al-Shehhi earned commercial certificates in 2000 and trained on Boeing simulators; Ziad Jarrah held a private certificate and also received Boeing simulator training. It is true that instructors found Hanjour’s skills poor during certain later sessions, and none had previously flown a 757/767 as an airline pilot.

Some vehicles burned intensely; the Museum has an FDNY engine whose interior was gutted and whose components showed melting and deformation. None of that requires a secondary explosive mechanism. Claims about particular cars being mysteriously “flipped” or complete steel engine blocks melting need identification of the specific vehicle/photo before they can really be checked.

Airphone networks, voicemail/answering-machine recordings and the receiving end of a call can produce confusing anecdotes, but I found no primary evidence of a functioning cellphone aboard a destroyed aircraft continuing to transmit afterward. 9. “A hijacker’s ID appeared on the sidewalk before the planes hit.” — False. Satam al-Suqami’s passport really was recovered on a street near the WTC, which understandably sounds extraordinary. But FBI chronology places Flight 11’s impact first and the passport recovery afterward. The 9/11 Commission says a passerby found it and handed it to police before the towers collapsed, not before the aircraft hit. The FBI chronology even notes that it was soaked with jet fuel.

The only way that large pieces of the towers near the top reach the ground in 10 seconds is if the floors beneath the visible damage are falling with them.
